Pioneering electronica quartet Lotus is set to unleash their forthcoming eleventh studio album, "How to Dream in Color", available July 11. Ahead of the album, Lotus offers listeners a taste of their unbridled musical evolution and innovative spirit with the intrepid new single “How Do I Come Down.”

"How to Dream in Color" emerges as Lotus' latest masterpiece, traversing a diverse soundscape that blends instrumental prowess with dynamic, selective vocal integrations from longtime collaborator Gabe Otto across twelve tracks. Each composition paints its own distinct universe, offering a beacon for fans old and new, inviting them to explore the vibrant and infinite realms of Lotus' musical vision.

“How Do I Come Down” is a jaw-dropping introduction on the sonic journey that is "How to Dream in Color". Drawing inspiration from a plethora of musical legends ranging from Radiohead to Daft Punk, the track transcends the confines of genre using an intense mix of uptempo rhythms, distorted bass, and vocals from Gabe Otto.

Describing the creation of “How Do I Come Down,” Luke Miller (guitar, keys) shares, “This track is a manifesto for the entire album – a dream scenario where anything is possible yet flows like water.” Bassist Jesse Miller adds, “The tonality moves between major and minor keys, akin to driving through a mountain highway, transitioning between light, dark, and the exhilarating unknown.”

Accompanying the single release is a vibrant lyric video, created by Apeyalla, featuring Otto’s vocals atop a technicolor backdrop. In addition to limited edition merch packages, fans can also pre-order the exclusive first pressing of "How to Dream in Color", a 2 LP, 140g vinyl in blue/white marble (side A/B) and ultraclear (side C/D).

Lotus has continually redefined the intersection of electronic dance music and jam band improvisation. With the addition of lead guitarist Tim Palmieri in 2021, the band has infused new energy into their immersive live shows and innovative studio recordings.

In what marks a poignant milestone, "How to Dream in Color" is Lotus' first studio album since the heartbreaking loss of their longtime percussionist, Chuck Morris, whose spirit and artistry have left an indelible mark on the band's legacy. This release represents not just another addition to their discography but a tribute to Morris's memory, a celebration of his life, and a testament to the resilience and unity of the band in the face of profound sorrow.

Lotus confirms a special album release show on July 11 at Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia, promising a historic night with the album played in full in an intimate setting.
