South Fork CO, a tiny town tucked away at 8200 feet in the San Juan Mountains, has always been a stop on the way to somewhere else. Starting life as a stage coach station in the 1880s, the town only grew slowly in the aftermath of the silver strike in nearby Creede and the extension of the railroad. Finally in 1992, it was officially incorporated as a town, the youngest in Colorado. But South Fork and Creede have always drawn musicians and others who sought the tranquility of these rugged mountains and the swift moving waters of the Rio Grande, which begins a few miles from Creede.

Friday, September 5thNew American Farmers will perform at Great American Music Hall in celebration of the release of their upcoming long player, The Farmacology Sessions, which will be available on September 5th for concert attendees and officially released on October 14th.  The band will be performing tracks from their upcoming release and favorites from their debut, Brand New Day.

 

 

The Jason Spooner Band hails from the booming harbor city of Portland, Maine – a small but bustling sea port gaining significant national recognition for world-class food, art and a celebrated music scene. As the band approached the recording of their fourth album chemical, they decided to leave the comforts and conveniences of the city behind and retreat “down east” to the quiet Midcoast region of Maine for the particularly long and brutal winter of 2014. 

The T.J.  Martell Foundation has announced The Celebrity ROCK ‘N’ BOWL, a fundraiser that combines the competitive sport of bowling with high energy entertainment and celebrity appearances to raise funds for cancer research. The event is chaired by Wendy Dio, President and Co-Founder of the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, who serves on The T.J. Martell Foundation Board and whose organization has raised and donated funds to the T.J. Martell’s continuing efforts in cancer research.

Portland, Oregon based Fruition have emerged as a must-see band on the Americana scene and have captured audiences with their soaring 3-part harmonies and new-grass string arrangements. With no signs of slowing down, Fruition are heading back on the road and headlining their first East Coast run following successful tours with Greensky Bluegrass and The Infamous Stringdusters.
