April 2016

Summer brings the live festival season, and Real Gone Music is giving music fans a V.I.P. pass to its own star-studded event with a pair of unreleased concerts from two great live bands: The Paul Butterfield Blues Band featuring the killer guitar duo of Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop, and the quintessential British folk-rock band Fairport Convention. Both sets come complete with liner notes, photos, and, most importantly, amazing performances.

The Nightowls' new record "Royal Sessions" boasts an energetic blend of classic soul and modern pop. True to the band's roots, they recorded the new single and EP at the famed Royal Studios (Al Green, John Mayer, Rod Stewart) in Memphis, TN. The band will be hitting the road this spring, playing dates across the Southeast including Memphis and all over Texas, before snaking up the East and West coasts this summer!

In continued celebration of the 4/20 holiday, Slightly Stoopid will return tomorrow night,  Thursday, April 21st, 2016, to Tamalpais Research Institute (TRI Studios) for a live performance and webcast with special guests including legendary Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir.

Couch Tour returns this week with four nights of live Umphrey's McGee from Texas & Oklahoma. Things kick off tonight on 4/20 from Houston and the live HD webcasts continue through Tulsa, Austin & Dallas. Each night is $12.99 but we know you really want 'em all, so if you buy three, we're giving you one for free!

Explosive horn-and-percussion trio Moon HoochMike Wilbur (horns), Wenzl McGowen (horns), and James Muschler (drums)—will release their third album, 'Red Sky,' on June 10.

The Movement’s new album Golden has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. This is the trio’s sixth studio album and the first release on Rootfire Cooperative, a label services program that provides interest free loans for the production and marketing of recorded music.
