Chicago Launches Summer Tour With Doobie Brothers

Chicago is set to launch a 25-date summer tour with support from the Doobie Brothers next month.  The relationship between the two bands dates back to the early 1970s, with this summer's tour marking the fifth time the legendary acts have hit the road together. Following separate sets loaded with their individual hits, the shows will culminate with a collaborative finale featuring classics from both acts.

With international album sales of more than 100 million, Chicago will return to Asia this fall where their fan-base has grown to extraordinary levels thanks to frequent tours in Japan, and recently, Korea, the Philippines and Australia. Chicago has also increased their touring presence in Europe, Scandinavia and South America over the past five years and expect to perform in these regions in the near future.

For the third consecutive year, the band is partnering with the American Cancer Society on the "Sing with Chicago" initiative, which gives fans the opportunity to sing “If You Leave Me Now” on-stage with the band at each of their shows.  Know for their constant charitable work, Chicago has also recently supported WhyHunger, Musicians On Call, Guide Dogs of America, and The Foundation Fighting Blindness. Additionally, portions of every ticket sold go to two charities: the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, for whom the band has raised more than 1 million dollars over the last 17 years and whose research was recently taken over by the University Of Notre Dame; and to Hannah & Friends, an organization that helps adults and children with special needs.  The band and their manager recently build a four-unit home for the residents of Hannah & Friends.

Hailed as one of the "most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era" by former President Bill Clinton, Chicago is the first American band to chart Top 40 albums in five consecutive decades and Billboard's highest charting American band of all time. They have sold nearly 40 million albums in the US alone, and have had five #1 albums, 21 top ten singles, and 25 platinum albums.

Fans can get a taste of what's to come this summer with 'Chicago In Chicago,' a new DVD that captures the hometown headliners wowing a sold-out crowd in Chicago's Charter One Pavilion, culminating in an encore with the Doobie Brothers, which includes "25 or 6 to 4" and "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"
