In a celebration of timeless artistry, tradition, and innovation, Colorado’s own Leftover Salmon will headline two special evenings at the historic Leftover Salmon feat. Peter Rowan & Billy Failing with special guests Banshee Tree and Sicard Hollow.
Leftover Salmon is not just any band; they’re a testament to the spirit of American music, marking over three decades with a legacy of influencing genres, styles, and generations. From pioneering the progressive bluegrass scene with a touch of drum rhythms to stamping their authority on the modern jamband scene, they’ve been emblematic of musical evolution. Their storied journey has seen them as the architects of the renowned "Jamgrass" style, blending the very heart of bluegrass with the soul of jam sessions.
The band's longevity is all the more remarkable given their continuous evolution. Their latest offering, Brand New Good Old Days (Compass Records 2021), is testament to this, proving their capacity to reinvent themselves while staying true to their essence. Their current lineup boasts its longest run with founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman leading the pack. Accompanied by talents like banjo maestro Andy Thorn and the rhythmic trio of Greg Garrison, Alwyn Robinson, and Jay Starling, the ensemble is set to captivate audiences with their eclectic sound.
Their show is a musical tour de force; from foot-stomping bluegrass beginnings to the mystic Cajun swamps, the vibrant streets of New Orleans, the iconic Ryman in Nashville, and culminating in the free spirit of the Colorado mountains.
