Throwback Stonesy rock'n'rollers release free EP

Lions in the Street

Canadian rock’n’roll survivors Lions in the Street are back with a free self-produced EP of their Stones and Faces-inspired, ramshackle rock, downloadable at www.lionsinthestreetband.com. Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) and Mark Rains (Shooter Jennings, Rival Sons) mixed the EP.

After a long hiatus from illness and relocating in part to the U.S., the former TVT and 604 Records recording artist’s Black Ops EP features two songs featured on an upcoming Paramount film, Cassino in Ischia, starring Prison Break’s Dominic Purcell and produced by Goodfellas producer and Scorsese collaborator Barbara De Fina.

Lions in the Street will re-release a remixed and remastered self-produced LP in late Spring 2024, ahead of a full-length album in fall 2024 produced by legendary Nashville producer and 9-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, John Prine).

On June 24, Round Records & ATO Records will release GarciaLive Volume Six: July 5, 1973 – Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders, the latest installment of the celebrated GarciaLive archival series. The three-CD set was recorded at the 200 capacity Lion’s Share club formerly located in the small town of San Anselmo, CA, just 20 miles north of San Francisco. The performance features Jerry Garcia performing with friend, mentor and legendary keyboardist/vocalist Merl Saunders. The duo is joined by drummer Bill Vitt and bassist John Kahn, who soon became a lifelong Garcia collaborator.
