The 11th annual WinterWonderGrass Steamboat wrapped up yesterday in Steamboat Springs, CO to three days of sold out crowds. WinterWonderGrass has established themselves as a premier festival in the roots, bluegrass and Americana scenes and over the years has featured bands on the cusp of monumental career milestones including Grammy-winning acts Molly Tuttle, The Infamous Stringdusters, The War and Treaty, to name a few.

This year was packed with memorable moments. Super group WinterWonderWomen - Bridget Law (Elephant Revival), Lindsay Lou, Megan Letts (Mama Magnolia), Emma Rose (Sound of Honey), Isa Burke, Michelle Pietrafitta (Banshee Tree), and AJ Lee (AJ Lee & Blue Summit) made their main stage debut on Sunday. WWG prides itself on being a family-friendly festival and this weekend was no exception with over 350 kids plus the first ever pop up Kids Jam with Camp Coletrain. During their set, the Kitchen Dwellers treated WWG fans to the late 90s hit “Guerilla Radio” by Rage Against The Machine, Sierra Ferrell performed a cover of “Don't Let Me Down,” and The Infamous Stringdusters gave the Harry Styles song “As It Was” a bluegrass makeover.

The artist community at WWG is part of what makes the festival so intimate and so unique. Throughout the weekend, many of the artists sat in with each other throughout the weekend including Lindsay Lou who joined the Kitchen Dwellers, Molly Tuttle, and Andy Frasco. Kyle Tuttle of Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway sat in with Andy Frasco, Lindsay Lou sat in with the Kitchen Dwellers and Andy Frasco and Torrin Daniels (Kitchen Dwellers) sat in on Pickin on the Dead’s Friday Grass After Dark set. Additionally, Rob Eaton (Dark Star Orchestra) and Kyle Hollingsworth (The String Cheese Incident) sat in the Pickin' On The Dead Friday night main stage set. Paul Cauthen brought the snow on Saturday night, and it continued to fall in picturesque flurries the rest of the weekend. Sierra Ferrell became snow queen in the elements, and The Infamous Stringdusters closed the festival with their 11th headlining WinterWonderGrass set, snowflakes providing the backdrop.

Following WWG Steamboat is WWG Tahoe which takes place April 5-7, 2024 at Palisades Tahoe, CA. Daily headline acts include Paul Cauthen, The Devil Makes Three, and The Infamous Stringdusters. Additional artists performing over the weekend include Sierra Ferrell, Kitchen Dwellers, Sierra Hull, Andy Frasco & the U.N. Lindsay Lou and more.
