THE JACK KEROUAC ESTATE announces the formation of a Jack Kerouac Foundation which is intended to further the creative legacy of world-renowned American writer and artist JACK KEROUAC.
 

On December 17th, 2021, Kareeta, a new country rock band, shares its debut album worldwide. Kareeta rose from the swamps and southern delta heat during the uncertain Spring of 2020. Emerging as a fully formed amalgamation of the music that shaped its core, the band assembled in California and recorded their debut LP in Oakland with producer and musician Greg Loiacono (Mother Hips, Green Leaf Rustlers) at the controls.

Today, Monday, January 3, Tinsley Ellis -- recognized as one of the world’s most astounding and accomplished blues-rock guitarists and performers, and one of the genre’s most original and prolific songwriters -- announced dates for his 2022 Devil May Care tour in support of his new album of the same name. With the arrival of the Omicron variant, jam bands and groups of other musical genres alike began to postpone one of the most coveted and fun types of concert: the New Year’s concert. With no reported cases and all negative Covid tests, Goose decided the show must go on.

Symphonic finesse and elegance was the theme on December 30 when Acoustic Hot Tuna, aka Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, concluded a three-night residency at the intimate Freight & Salvage Coffee House in Berkeley, California. The enduring duo entertained the crowd with two sets of acoustic blues, roots, and spiritual music – much of it dating to pre-World War II – that was both complex and easy on the ears.

Today, Aoife O’Donovan releases “B61”, an arresting ode to apocalyptic refuge and the bittersweet nature of remembering. Written while lamenting the loneliness of mid-winter lockdown, the track shimmers with the fading intimacy of the Brooklyn bars Aoife loved. “how will i know if i’m the last one alive?” she sings, wavering between warm harmonies and more urgent melodies, “for forty one days and as many nights / i’ll be standing where we stood under an indigo sky.”
