Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee of The Lowest Pair have a model, musical partnership. Right now this makes me very jealous. I’m ‘staying safe at home,’ sadly don’t have a quaran-team and am very single which has been my state of being for far too long. Clearly the universe doesn’t want me, or any single person, to have love or sex again. (Although if I were to have sex, this would be a great time.

GRAMMY®-winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19). His family respects their privacy at this time.

Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning American music icon Jim Lauderdale’s new bluegrass album, When Carolina Comes Homes Again, is out now on Yep Roc Records.

Recorded at Echo Mountain Recording in Asheville, NC, in conjunction with Come Hear NC, his 33rd album is a return to his geographical and musical roots paying homage to his native North Carolina harkening back to the earliest music he learned to play. 

Storytelling is something of a Texas tradition. Tall hats and even taller tales are woven into the fabric of The Lone Star State, and Waco native, now Nashville-based songwriter Jarrod Dickenson, can spin a yarn with the best of them. Known for his soulful vocals and ability to blend a variety of instruments and influences into one signature sound, Dickenson returns on May 22 with the release of his new album Ready The Horses.

Today, The White Buffalo (aka Jake Smith) released two new tracks off his forthcoming album On The Widow’s Walk as a double A-Side. The new Shooter Jennings produced album is due out on April 17 via Snakefarm Records.  

Todd Rundgren and some well known guest artists are re-recording his 1973 anthem “Just One Victory” and giving it away for free to Democrats throughout the US running for public office this year. So far Joe Walsh, Daryl Hall, and Paul Shaffer have already agreed to join the effort along with producer Don Was. The idea was suggested by former Bearsville Records executives Paul Fishkin and Marc Nathan.

COVID-19 has created immense distress worldwide. My chest is tight, there are moments when my right eye feels like it’s on the verge of twitching and sounds are sometimes muffled as hearing sensitivities can be associated with high levels of stress. I haven’t felt this type of unease since my partner committed suicide. Wow! I know you are all thinking, did she really just divulge something this deeply personal? I did.

Olympia, WA-based experimental indie-folk duo The Lowest Pair — Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee — are set to return with a new full-length, The Perfect Plan, on April 24, 2020 via Delicata Records / Thirty Tigers. After each releasing solo albums via Conor Oberst’s Team Love Records in 2018, Winter and Lee tapped producer Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes to help expand simple folk songs into fleshed-out soundscapes that lean gently into Winter's punk past, as well as the sonic playground of her mind.

Live music offers an interconnected, communal experience like none other to lift us up. With concerts nationwide on hold indefinitely, the vital experience of a Greensky Bluegrass performance can now be summoned digitally via a new live release.  Today the band introduces the sophomore installment of the live series available exclusively via all online streaming platforms, Courage For The Road: Winter 2020 to share until the concert season kicks back in full gear.
