ZZ Ward

Following the announcement of his highly anticipated sixth solo album Orgy of the Damned, due out May 17 on Gibson Records, the iconic, GRAMMY®-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH, has confirmed a North American tour in celebration of the Blues this summer. SLASH’s newly announced S.E.R.P.E.N.T.

Today, ZZ Ward's highly anticipated album 'Dirty Shine' has officially landed on streaming platforms, released via her own Dirty Shine Records. A cinematic 11-song album, spilling over with an intoxicating cocktail of bold electronic textures, rugged hip-hop beats, fierce rhymes and pop hooks, acoustic Delta blues riffs, sensual R&B singing, and juke joint harmonica, ‘Dirty Shine’ represents a new chapter in ZZ’s career, as she embraces life as a new mother and removes the constraints of the major label system.

ZZ Ward, the edgy, blues-inspired artist known for her unique blend of hip-hop, pop, R&B, neo-soul, and rock, has announced 'Dirty Shine,' her first album as an independent artist, slated for release on September 8th via her own Dirty Shine Records.

Live music continued on Saturday, August 29th, in Ventura, California, at the Concerts In Your Car, drive-in concert series. CBF Productions brought Fitz and the Tantrums with opening act ZZ Ward to the outdoor venue for a nearly sold out performance. Drive-in concerts have become one of the only ways for a band to perform live in front of an audience since COVID-19 changed life as we all knew it before. Locally, Concerts In Your Car has been producing shows at the Ventura Fairgrounds since June.

ZZ Ward is a dynamic blues aficionado, embarking on her first solo tour since 2015 this winter.  With professional studio work under her belt, she is about to explode onto the stage. The title track off the album, The Storm, really highlights her incredible voice.  With a smooth, soulful song she can keep it scratchy like the great female blues rockers of the past.  While the music is reminiscent of Howling Wolf or Sonny Boy Williams, the lyrics are all sass and sweet.

Critically acclaimed bluesy recording artist ZZ Ward announces her upcoming The Storm Tour in support of her new album The Storm. Having just finished up a national trek with Kaleo, ZZ returns to the headline spot as The Storm Tour kicks off on January 30th in Salt Lake City, UT at The Depot.

The chill in the air and the familiar rumble of school buses tells us that summer is quietly coming to an end. If you were at Bumbershoot this past weekend, however, school lunches and winter jackets were far from a hot topic. In its 42nd year, Seattle’s music and arts festival was blessed with sunny skies, a distinct lineup, and its 7 millionth visitor ever.

Friday at Wakarusa began with sunshine and high fives. It was an awesome day. Despite the fact I put on sunscreen 5 times, I still got a sunburn. But I got to see a fair amount of music and found a lot of friends I had been hoping to see. Overall, great day!
