The Marcus King Band Family Reunion is all about friends, food, and in Marcus King’s words, “front porch pickin’.” Inspired by weekends past with his family, the two-day festival—August 23rd and 24th at Firefly Distillery in North Charleston, South Carolina—is a hopped-up version of exactly that, complete with a front porch-inspired jam for the ages. Today, single day lineups were announced for the Marcus King Band Family Reunion including a special Marcus King & Friends set on Saturday.

Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, will unveil the new Gibson Marcus King ES-345™ tomorrow, Tuesday, June 17, with a special in-store celebration at the Gibson Garage Nashville (209 10th Avenue South, Ste 209). The event will feature a live performance by GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitar phenomenon Marcus King, followed by an on-stage Q&A with King and Mat Koehler, Gibson’s Vice President of Product.

 “When I was growing up in South Carolina, once a year we’d pack the family car up and head to my great grandparents’ home for some front porch pickin’, covered dishes, lots of love, and plenty of leftovers,” says fourth-generation Carolinian musician Marcus King.

Big-name headliners Lenny Kravitz (Friday), Sublime (Saturday), and Alanis Morissette (Sunday) led the way on the massive High Tide (the official main stage with its enormous viewing-area lawn of artificial but lush, cool grass) and Low Tide (in front of an expansive sandy beach) stages, with big 90-minute sets in front of up to 11,000 jolly souls. Other mighty 60 and 75-minute alternating performances on the High and Low Tide stages were delivered by such acclaimed performers as Train, The Beach Boys (with John Stamos), the Pretenders, Jackson Browne, Mt. Joy, Marcus King, Cake, Skip Marley, Susanna Hoffs, and Aloe Blacc.
