Singer/songwriter/feminist/activist/author Ani DiFranco is commemorating the 25th Anniversary of her ninth studio album, the iconic Little Plastic Castle, with a remix of the title track by Tune-Yards. On June 23, DiFranco’s label Righteous Babe Records is offering a 25th anniversary edition remastered by Heba Kadry, with the addition of three bonus bed tracks mixed by Tchad Blake, and a new CD package and first-time release on vinyl (2 LPs).

Sunday night, Ani DiFranco returned to Fort Collins for the first time in a little more than three years on the final Colorado stop of her spring tour.

Widely considered a feminist icon, Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, being one of the first artists to create her own record label in 1990. While she has been known as the “Little Folksinger,” her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica and even more distant sounds. Her collaborators have included everyone from Utah Phillips to legendary R&B saxophonist Maceo Parker to Prince.

Bay Area trio Rainbow Girls are currently on tour with revered singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco with upcoming California shows in Solana Beach and Los Angeles. In celebration of the appearances, they have released a new single, "Compassion to the Nth Degree," and an accompanying music video today. The track is off a forthcoming full-length album of which few additional details have been revealed. Of the song, the group shares, "If you don’t like protest songs, you’ll love this.

The MV Concert Series has added new shows by Grammy winners, soul icons, folk legends and some of the top artists touring the country. The new additions to an already thrilling summer lineup include Grammy half of farmers Blind Boys of Alabama and Don McLean as well as Grammy winner Ani DiFranco. All of the shows of the MV Concert Series will be played at Loft in Oak Bluffs, the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center (MVPAC) also in Oak Bluffs and The Old Whaling Church in Edgartown.

Today, singer/songwriter/feminist/activist/author Ani DiFranco is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of her seminal first live album Living In Clip with the remastered single “Napoleon,” available today on DSPs HERE. DiFranco’s label, Righteous Babe Records, is also offering a 25th anniversary remastered edition of the landmark double album on July 29th.
