In the wake of Donald Trump's recent election victory, concerns are mounting over the potential rollback of environmental protections that could have far-reaching consequences for our planet and future generations. Trump has pledged to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, a move that would undermine global efforts to combat climate change. Additionally, he plans to reduce the size of national monuments, opening these protected lands to drilling and mining activities.

Today, the legendary jazz group The Bad Plus releases their new album Complex Emotions via Mack Avenue Records. The album is the boundary-defying quartet’s second LP with its current lineup of founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums) along with Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (saxophone and clarinet) and its first with Mack Avenue Records.

Congratulations to Sierra Ferrell on earning her first-ever GRAMMY nominations today. Named "one of country and roots music's most fascinating and fastest-rising artists" (Rolling Stone), Ferrell earned a total of four nominations for the following categories: Best Americana Album (Trail of Flowers), Best American Roots Performance (“Lighthouse”), Best Americana Performance (“American Dreaming”), and Best American Roots Song (“American Dreaming”).

Today, The Greyboy Allstars unveil "Boxes," the third and final single from their highly anticipated album Grab Bag: 2007-2023, set for release on November 22. This nine-track collection, curated from the band’s archives, spans 16 years of rare and unreleased material, including an instrumental soul-jazz take on Michael Jackson’s "The Way You Make Me Feel." With Grab Bag, The Greyboy Allstars continue their legacy as pioneers of West Coast boogaloo, blending jazz, funk, and soul in their unique style.

From the free-spirited playing of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Lights On A Satellite lands squarely in the groove of swing. This recording is a tribute to the life’s work of Marshall Allen, who celebrated his 100th birthday on May 25, 2024. Recorded in Studio A at New York’s Power Station on June 16, 2024, the album honors this exceptional musician as a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, bandleader, teacher, and keeper of Sun Ra’s legacy.
