Borderland Festival, one of the Buffalo, NY region's most popular music and art festivals, in collaboration with 1 Million Strong, Divided Sky Foundation, and The Phoenix, is thrilled to announce the first-ever Sober Retreat Tent at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, New York. The event will take place from September 15-17.


    Borderland Festival: A renowned festival celebrating music and art in the East Aurora region.
    1 Million Strong: An impact initiative aimed at supporting one million people impacted by substance use.
    Divided Sky Foundation: Founded by Trey Anastasio, this foundation is committed to helping those affected by alcoholism and addiction.
    The Phoenix: A national nonprofit and sober community.


The festival will feature the inaugural Sober Retreat Tent, presented by Divided Sky Foundation. This marks the first sober-supportive area of its kind at any major live music event in the region. The tent serves as an inclusive sanctuary for sober attendees and their allies, friends, and family. Visitors to the tent can relax, recharge, and enjoy non-alcoholic beverages courtesy of Tap Truck Buffalo. Additionally, festivalgoers are encouraged to check out the partnering organizations, learn about opportunities for involvement, pick up some music swag, and much more.


Borderland Festival and its partners are deeply committed to creating a more sober-supportive atmosphere within the music community. The Sober Retreat Tent aims to provide festivalgoers with a safe, welcoming space where they can fully enjoy the musical performances without any external pressures or concerns related to substance use.


The Sober Retreat Tent will be operational from September 15-17 during the Borderland Festival.
