Nestled in the Carolina foothills, Tryon International Equestrian Center offers myriad outdoor recreation opportunities on its 1600 acre property. Home of the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games, the venue has become a premier destination for athletes of a variety of disciplines, as well as music lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Its first-class facilities include eight unique restaurants, a full service resort, a golf course, extensive horseback riding trails, a multipurpose gym, and numerous boutique shops. Making full use of these amenities, Scruggs Fest will offer an array of free and separately ticketed activities throughout the event weekend, like a “Bourbon & Bluegrass” tasting hosted by The Infamous Stringdusters’ Travis Book, a charity golf tournament benefiting Junior Appalachian Musicians, Sunday gospel brunch featuring the music of Darin and Brooke Aldridge, and a “Sips & Strings” painting class.

With offerings for all ages, interests, and experience levels, there is truly something for everyone at Earl Scruggs Music Festival. At the centerpiece of it all will be nonstop entertainment provided by some of today’s most established musical acts – festival host Jerry Douglas, The Earls of Leicester, Jake Blount, Rissi Palmer, plus newly-added ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band, Pete Wernick, The Blue Ridge Girls, and more. Established in partnership with WNCW 88.7 at Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC and the Earl Scruggs Center located in Shelby, NC, Earl Scruggs Music Festival “has already risen to the top tier of annual music festivals” (Bluegrass Today). WMOT in Nashville adds, “[Scruggs’ family] would have been impressed by this tribute to the most influential bluegrass musician in history.” With a standout lineup featuring the best in traditional roots music and progressive fusions, Earl Scruggs Music Festival will continue to illuminate the profound impact that Scruggs had on American culture, while uplifting fresh and noteworthy voices in the genre. A portion of proceeds will support the festival’s beneficiaries, the Earl Scruggs Center and Isothermal Community College, who serve Earl Scruggs’ home region of the Carolina Foothills with cultural programming through multiple channels.
