A Gamecock Evening of Carolina Songwriters features two of South Carolina’s favorite musicians. Called the “great American romantic” by the NY Times, Edwin McCain has built an enviable career over the past 20 years.  Fans worldwide know his hits “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More”, two of the biggest love songs in the history of pop music, which have been streamed over half a billion times.  Patrick Davis has written songs recorded by Darius Rucker, Jimmy Buffett, Guy Clark, Lady Antebellum and Morgan Wallen, among others.  For South Carolina Gamecock fans, he’s perhaps best known for his song, “Big Ole (Game) Cock” which has become the adopted anthem of USC and even played in the stadium.

“Edwin & I are both extremely excited to be playin' in Jacksonville the night before our Gamecocks take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.  As long time friends, and lifelong University of South Carolina Gamecocks, Edwin & I could not think of a better way to celebrate a great year for Coach Beamer & his team than playin' a show in a stunningly beautiful venue for what I am sure will essentially feel like a "hometown" or at least "home team" crowd. "
