Renowned Canadian guitarist Jesse Cook, whose career has spanned twenty-five illustrious years, is set to perform at the Boulder Theater on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the show commencing at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be available starting Friday, June 14 at 10 am and can be purchased here.

With a distinguished career that includes multiple accolades such as a coveted Acoustic Guitar Magazine ‘Player’s Choice Silver Award,’ eleven Juno Award nominations, a Gemini Award, and ten platinum and gold studio albums, Jesse Cook has solidified his place as a global guitar virtuoso. His extraordinary journey in music is further highlighted by sold-out concert halls worldwide, five PBS television specials, and five live CDs.

Reflecting on his unexpected yet remarkable career, Jesse Cook remarked, "If you had asked me at age 22, I would have said that I would never, never make music for the public. I would have told you that the public is much too fickle — they may love you one minute and forget you the next. Well, it turns out I did the thing I said I'd never do, and somehow it's worked out."

Indeed, Cook’s career took off with his 1995 debut album, Tempest, which he self-produced using an eight-track recorder and one microphone. The success of Tempest paved the way for his international acclaim, including a 10-minute standing ovation at the 1995 Catalina Jazz Festival, where his performance left a lasting impression.

Cook’s diverse musical education, starting with his early exposure to flamenco in southern France and continuing at the prestigious Eli Kassner Guitar Academy, the Royal Conservatory, Toronto’s York University, and Berklee College, has allowed him to blend various genres into his unique sound. His music has resonated globally, with notable moments such as his 2004 live album Montreal gaining immense popularity in Poland, and his compositions being used in major Bollywood films and Olympic routines.

Throughout his career, Cook has embraced the global appeal of his music, combining flamenco with classical, jazz, Zydeco, blues, and Brazilian samba. This blend reflects his belief in the interconnectedness of music, a sentiment he passionately conveys through his work.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cook produced an extraordinary solo YouTube video series titled “Love in the Time of Covid,” where he played all the instruments, recorded, and filmed himself. This series has not only delighted his existing fan base but also expanded his global audience, who eagerly await his return to the stage.

Jesse Cook’s upcoming performance at the Boulder Theater promises to be a night of unforgettable music, showcasing his virtuosity and the rich tapestry of his musical journey.
