Meeting on the Mountain LIVE, a collaborative, live broadcast experience, closes their second season of shows on Thursday, Dec. 1. With Grant Farm as house band and Tyler Grant as host, each broadcast event includes performances and interviews with each featured act.

Along with resident Meeting on the Mountain guest Benny “Burle” Galloway, past episodes have featured guests Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident, Todd Sheaffer of Railroad Earth, Dead Winter Carpenters, Yarn, Reed Foehl, The Railsplitters, and Ragged Union.

Meeting on the Mountain LIVE is filmed and broadcast by Fort Collins-based Hyphytek. Episodes are streamed live for an audience and later rebroadcast on-line.

The show’s concept was inspired by Grant Farm’s Meeting on the Mountain EP (2014, Grant Central Records), an inspired collaboration with the group Fruition. The theme song, “Meet me on the Mountain,” by Tyler Grant and Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson, conjures a laid-back campfire sing-a-long and embodies well the spirit of the series.

According to Grant, the joint EP project brought with it “magic” worth continuing. In a “fit of inspiration,” he decided to make it a regular concept that allows Grant Farm to highlight and collaborate with some of their favorite musicians.

Grant Farm’s latest release, Kiss the Ground (2016), sends a positive message while acknowledging real hardship in a society that expects too much. “We think of this as our ode to the working people,” says Grant of the album’s lyrics. Highlights of the band-written LP include Grant’s “Get In Line,” which discusses the high price we pay for what we want, and “Fill Your Cup,” a call to make the most of life.
