Stand with pro-environment Indigenous cabinet nominee Deb Haaland

Montana Republican Senator Steve Daines and Wyoming Senator John Barrasso are trying to block the confirmation of Rep. Deb Haaland for Secretary of the Interior. Take action now.

Deb Haaland is an advocate for Indigenous rights, keeping fossil fuels in the ground, and banning fracking. She would be the first Indigenous leader of the Department of the Interior -- an agency that has huge influence over Indigenous issues.

In contrast, both Daines and Barrasso signaled their support for Trump’s failed Bureau of Land Management nominee William Perry Pendley, an unapologetic racist who said Black Lives Matter was based on a lie and that Indigenous concerns were driven by “religious myth.” Now they are trying to prevent Haaland from getting the job. Tell your Senators to confirm her to lead the Department of the Interior.

Take action now to support Deb Haaland, the first Indigenous Secretary of the Interior.

Deb Haaland is perceived as a threat to GOP Senators who are more concerned with polluter paychecks than their constituents. Haaland understands how important it is to respect Indigenous soverienty, protect our public lands and keep fossil fuels in the ground -- both for local communities and for the environment.

It’s no wonder Steve Daines and John Barrasso are leading the charge against her -- if she’s in a position to crack down on fossil fuel leasing on public lands, it may directly impact their pockets. They have taken $1,158,847 and $572,327, respectively, from the oil and gas industry.

Deb Haaland -- fossil fuel fighter and Dakota Access Pipeline water protector -- has the knowledge and experience to get things done. But Daines and other Senate Republicans could stand in her way.

Demand your Senators support Deb Haaland and protect local communities and our planet.

Steve Daines is a stolen election conspiracy theorist and insurrectionist supporter. While he didn’t storm the Capitol, he did fan the flames by protesting the valid election process.

Now he’s at it again, this time trying to stand in the way of Deb Haaland’s appointment. He is using his extreme rhetoric to fire up his base, calling her views “radical”. But there is nothing radical about not wanting pipelines to pollute our air, our water, and our communities.

Let’s be perfectly clear -- Daines is only in opposition because his Big Oil allies are afraid she’ll stand up to them. Will you take a stand to protect our environment from Big Oil polluters and their Republican cronies?

Support Deb Haaland’s nomination and protect our public lands from the fossil fuel industry.
