With live music becoming a vibrant reality more and more as the weather warms and the days lengthen, the Ohio ‘jamtronica’ group The Werks have another reason to celebrate. Today the band announces the return of founding member and original bassist Chuckie Love back into The Werks lineup.
His return to the band arrives in time for The Werks’ 15 year anniversary and the 11th annual The Werk Out Music and Arts Festival at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio July 23 - 24. "We are stoked to have our brother Chuckie Love back in the band! His signature bass style, vocals, and stage energy will help bring an excitingly fresh and nostalgic flavor to the show" says The Werks drummer Rob Chafin. “We would like to thank Jake Goldberg for holding down the low end the past five years and wish him the best moving forward."
Guitarist Chris Houser notes “He and I have been playing together since 2004 in various acts. Chuck has always embodied the true original soul of The Werks. Our styles have always seemed to sync and I’m very excited to have him back in the group.”
Love maintains his funk and jazz-fusion bass chops performing with another Ohio based rock band, Subterranean, for the past 9 years. "I am extremely excited to be taking the stage with these guys again, and overjoyed with the thought of seeing all The Werks fans.” says Chuck. “Rob, Houser, and I started this, it just seems right that we see it through. It's funny sometimes how things come full circle.”
The Werks and the newly minted lineup take their “psychedelic dance rock” back to center stage at Legend Valley for The Werk Out Festival with special guest Papadosio (two nights), Dopapod, Lespecial, Dizgo, Dustin Smith & The Daydreamers, Stringus Khan within a socially distanced pod event set up.
