Sun State,” the debut single from the Wreckless Strangers’ (formerly known as The Well Known Strangers) forthcoming project, When the Sun and a Blue Star Collide, is available today on all streaming platforms. The track features blues harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite; and the album, scheduled for release on March 25, 2022, was produced by Colin Linden, nine-time Juno Award-winning and GRAMMY-winning producer/artist and renowned guitarist. The band announced Bay Area shows in support of the new album at  Point San Pablo Harbor on March 12 and Peri’s in Fairfax on April 8.

“So much fire – like when the sun and a blue star collide.” Thus spoke singer Amber Morris to guitarist/singer David Noble and band manager Mackenzie Brown over guitars and coffee one golden, late-summer morning in the hills of northern California. And with that hook “Sun State” was born, an Americana-rock epic paying homage to the band’s S.F. Bay Area roots and to those special people in our lives who shine brighter than the sun.

The Boot premiered “Sun State'' yesterday, calling it a “sexy, fiery track” and applauding the Wreckless Strangers' artistry, “With a mixture of powerhouse vocals, clever lyrical imagery and richly layered instrumentation, Wreckless Strangers show off their combined talents with every note” (The Boot).
