Riding the momentum of her breakout single “Marry Jane,” country darling and singer-songwriter Abbie Callahan returns with “Yo-Yo,” a twangy, emotionally tangled track that captures all the dizzying ups and downs of a fleeting romance.

When Taiwanese-born pianist Jo-Yu Chen moved to New York to study at Juilliard, she had every intention of continuing on the classical career path she’d followed as a student of both piano and oboe. It wasn’t long, however, before she detoured into the world of jazz, continuing her studies at the New School and falling under the influence of adventurous pianists like Jason Moran, Sam Yahel and Kevin Hays.

For the last two decades, GRAMMY-winning quintet The SteelDrivers have had a pretty simple process of whittling down songs to record for their new albums: Do we all like them? Do they have that SteelDrivers sound? With their new single, “Booze and Cigarettes”—the latest from Outrun, the band’s upcoming album on the legendary Sun Records—the choice was a no-brainer. Like most SteelDrivers songs, there’s a good time layer to their Bluegrass Americana styling with a slight tinge of something deeper at play.

Primus is back with their first new studio track since 2022’s Conspiranoid EP: the blistering, surrealist anthem “Little Lord Fentanyl.” A twisted fable steeped in groove and dark humor, the track features a guest appearance from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer), whose unmistakable voice slithers through the chaos with sinister glee.

Today, Ben Harper released his emotional new single, “Before The Rain Dried.” The track is a hauntingly beautiful reflection on loss dedicated to his longtime guitarist Michael Ward. “Before The Rain Dried” is the first single from Harper’s yet to be announced forthcoming new album. Bruce Springsteen’s “Faithless” — a long-lost film soundtrack to a movie that was never made — will be released in full on “Tracks II: The Lost Albums,” coming June 27 via Sony Music. A meditation on purpose, belief and acceptance — intended to accompany a film described as a "spiritual Western” — Springsteen recorded much of “Faithless” between the conclusion of the “Devils & Dust” tour in November 2005 and the release of “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions” in April 2006.
