Today, Pete Francis releases his new single “Can’t Get On With It,” a psychedelia-tinged meditation on the mental health struggles that dogged him throughout much of his adult life, from forthcoming album PTRN SKY!, out May 12 via Noble Steed Music. The record is Francis’ first full-length solo release since his 2019 departure from Dispatch, the alternative roots powerhouse he helped form in 1995.

Today, the Indiana blues-rock outfit The Cold Stares has released ‘Voices,’ their explosive new full-length album, out now via Mascot Records. Self-produced by the band and recorded almost entirely over the course of just two days with engineer Mark Needham (Taj Mahal, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Walk the Moon, Fleetwood Mac), ‘Voices’ stands as The Cold Stares’ most mature, eclectic collection yet, balancing gritty muscle and tender emotion in equal measure.

More than five decades ago, the legendary Count Basie covered Sonny Rollins’s now-classic “St. Thomas,” melding his iconic piano playing and big band stylings with its Caribbean-inflected feel to great effect.
