Del McCoury and Jomeokee Music and Arts Festival are proud to announce the “Jam with Del McCoury at Jomeokee Fest” YouTube contest. Musicians are encouraged to submit a video of themselves jamming, soloing and shredding to win the chance of playing onstage with bluegrass legend Del McCoury at the first annual Jomeokee Music and Arts Festival this September 14-16, 2012.

Sunday is “Family Day” at the Gathering of the Vibes, allowing families to attend the festival at a significantly reduced ticket price. Available only at the gate, kids 15 & under are free and all Connecticut residents and members of our military showing a photo ID will gain entrance admitted for $20. Family Day offers the ideal compromise between children’s need to have fun and parents’ desire to watch some music and catch up with old friends.

Local Pittsburgh musician, Sean Atkins, compiles a free, six-track, digital album available for download on Bandcamp. A cross between Owen and an acoustic Bon Iver, Atkins brings you a companion for your foggy morning, forlorn afternoon, and lonely evening.

Cindy is a diabetic leg amputee experiencing kidney problems and congestive heart failure. She has been in and out of the Hospital the past 2 months with 2 emergency room visits and 16 days total between two Hospitals.

The RockyGrass bluegrass festival in Lyons may be sold-out, but KGNU radio has once again found a way to sneak everyone inside. Since 2008, the local community radio station has been broadcasting live backstage from the festival during their popular Saturday Old Grass Gnu Grass program. Last year they doubled the coverage and added a second day of broadcasting on Sunday morning.

Leftover Salmon Announces “New Year’s Run 2012” to take place in the Midwest! Tickets will go On-Sale July 13th.  The band hasn’t been to Chicago for a Long Time and are looking forward to coming back to chime in the new year!

Leftover Salmon will kick off their New Years run in Indianapolis, IN @ the Vogue Theatre.  Next up will be two nights @ the Old Rock House in St Louis, MO.  Salmon will finish off their New Years run in style at the Vic Theater in Chicago, IL.
