It is a time when we recognize our historical ability to overcome the odds and make good through perseverance and industry and it is these qualities that have made this nation great. Although some do not always agree with the finished product or those whose hands are at work, the outcomes of these United States prove that we are unique, diverse, and deliver on inspiration and tradition.

Ozzy Osbourne’s voice was the sound of the forbidden door creaking open—then slamming shut with a riff that rattled the windows. News that he slipped away this morning, surrounded by his family’s love, feels surreal to anyone who first learned the true weight of an electric guitar through Paranoid. In October 1974 the Grateful Dead took their mighty Wall of Sound off the road and stepped into an uncertain silence. Eleven months later they re‑emerged not in an arena, but in Bob Weir’s home studio in Mill Valley, armed with blank slates and curious hearts. The result was Blues for Allah, the most exploratory studio statement of the band’s storied career—a record that fused desert night moods, jazz‑leaning instrumental flights, and Robert Hunter’s mystic poetry into a single, swirling ecosystem.
