An artist whose brilliance and creativity reshaped the possibilities of rock music, he left a considerable space in the world of guitar and beyond when he passed. Yet his spirit continues to live on through the songs he wrote, the records he cut, and the countless lives he influenced.

Dark Shadow Recording is thrilled to announce the release of Laura Orshaw’s new single, “Red Bandana, a bluegrass reimagining of Merle Haggard’s classic hit. The single features a remarkable collaboration with the acclaimed Canadian bluegrass band, The Slocan Ramblers, marking a milestone moment in both their careers.

Wryn (they/them) is an avant/folk singer-songwriter based in Lompoc, a small city north of Santa Barbara, CA. During a period of deep transformation that began four years ago, Wryn embarked on a journey that brought outward changes to their moniker, sound, and gender identity. This reinvention, both in sound and spirit, became the ethos of their new album, aptly titled Shapes, set for release in 2025 on Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records.
