Long Beach Dub Allstars frontman Opie Ortiz has released his first ever solo album Sound Sensation Vol. 1 under his Opie & Family moniker across digital music platforms today. Opie & Family's new record was co-written by Ortiz and The Aggrolites frontman Jesse Wagner, who also produced the work with additional engineering and mixing by Chris Brennan (Arise Roots, The Aggrolites).

“I moved to Denver. I quit my job. My grandfather died. I fell in and out of love. I toured all over the place. I spent a month living in Mauritius, the island country off Madagascar where my mom grew up,” says born-and-raised Florida musician Matthew Fowler about the ingredients of his new album The Grief We Gave Our Mother—out today via Signature Sounds Recordings. Fowler’s fine-tuned art of collecting these memories and displaying them in musical verse and melody is the key to his success as a songwriter.

Today, ARIA and three-time Golden Guitar nominee Angus Gill released “Whittling Away,” a duet written and performed with the legendary Jim Lauderdale, that highlights the resilience and strength people are displaying in the midst of these trying times. The track appears on Gill’s forthcoming LP The Scrapbook, due out September 24th via Rivershack Records/MGM.
