The Obama Summit featured musical headliner and indie rockers The National. But two days prior to their performance they snuck in an exclusive 90 minute concert at the intimate sized House of Vans Chicago. Located in Chicago's bustling west loop, Vans just opened in early 2017. And again they delighted Chicago music fans with artists who normally play much larger venues. Steve Kimock – aka “the guitar monk,” as Relix put it—needs little introduction; he’s been one of the top-flight psychedelic guitarists of his generation, a founder of the whole concept of jam bands.  He’s played with all the living members of the Grateful Dead, Jorma Kaukonen, the late co-founder of Parliament/Funkadelic, Bernie Worrell…you name it. On October 28th he’ll release a new album, Satellite City, produced by Dave Schools, and there’s no better way to celebrate such an event than to go play it.

Monday night David Crosby and Friends kicks off his tour with two nights at City Winery Chicago and continues for 23 more dates throughout the states ending December 9th.

Performing as a full band, his friends consist of James Raymond on keys, Mai Agan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals.

For the first time ever, Whose Hat Is This?, the electrifying acid jazz collective of current Tedeschi Trucks Band members bassist Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie), saxophonist Kebbi Williams (Outkast), and drummers JJ Johnson (John Mayer) and Tyler "Falcon" Greenwell (Col. Bruce Hampton), will be hitting the road for an East Coast US tour in December 2017.
