Yesterday, CBS Mornings aired their profile of the nationally recognized jazz education organization JAZZ HOUSE KiDS. CBS host Vladimir Duthiers spoke with Founder Melissa Walker and her husband, nine-time GRAMMY-Award winning bassist and the non-profit’s Artistic Director Christian McBride. While visiting the JAZZ HOUSE headquarters in Montclair, NJ, Duthiers also interviewed JAZZ HOUSE KiDS students Mark Ricco and Sinclair Powell about the positive impact the organization has had on their lives.

In preparation for the release of his highly anticipated new collection 8314 Boxed, celebrated solo artist and Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson has shared an exclusive unboxing video. Acclaimed singer-songwriter David Shaw has shared his intensely personal new single, “Take A Look Inside,” available today via his own Yokoko Records. Jon Barber of The Disco Biscuits will join forces with Ben Atkind of Elephantproof (formerly Goose) to perform on August 3 at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock. The evening will kick off with a set by Capital Region’s own SM INK.  

“I’m excited to collaborate with Ben again. Our Brooklyn show was very well received, and I think we’ll deliver an even stronger performance now that we’ve got a show under our belts,” Barber said, referencing the duo’s June 1 performance at Future City Lounge.

The Headhunters are set to release their new studio album, The Stunt Man, on Ropeadope Records on October 11, 2024. The album was recorded in August 2023 at the legendary Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood. Featuring seven tracks, the album showcases the genre-bending repertoire of this 50-year-old ensemble, co-led by original members Bill Summers on percussion and Mike Clark on drums.
