The 1990s were an excellent time to see live music. Not only were some of the oldest touring mainstays in their mature prime (i.e., Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, Rush, Eric Clapton) but a legion of next generation bands were emerging as part of a new mentality of what it meant to have a tour following.

Since last spring when I missed Chromeo play the sold out show at the Ogden, I have been anxiously awaiting the dance party that Chromeo is.

The aptly named Mavericks, whose brand of genre-busting country won them Grammys as well as Academy of Country and Country Music Association awards in the ’90s, not to mention critical acclaim and legions of fans, will reunite for the first time since their 2003 dissolution for an appearance at the Stagecoach Festival to be held April 27-29, 2012 in Indio, Calif. Following the Stagecoach appearance

Modest Mouse will visit the Lone Star state playing shows at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX on November 9th and the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, TX on November 10th. On November 13th, the band will appear at the SWU Music and Arts Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
