Dave Stryker

Fresh off their summer tour opening for Steely Dan, Stryker releases Prime—the first recording featuring his working trio.

Whether you’ve heard guitarist Dave Stryker leading his own group (with 33 CD’s as a leader to date), or as a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others, you know why the Village Voice calls him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years.” He was recently voted once again into the 2022 Downbeat Critics and Readers Poll for the 12th time.

Fresh off touring with Steely Dan, the great jazz guitarist Dave Stryker – a master of many musical styles -- augments his regular trio (organist Jared Gold and drummer McClenty Hunter) with the equally versatile Grammy-nominated tenor saxophonist Troy Roberts for what promises to be a hip, soulful and energetic set.

A leader on 34 albums, including his popular Eight Track and Blue To The Bone series, Stryker’s band bops and swings with the best.

The last Wednesday of the month is “Solo Guitar Night,” a Round-Robin of unaccompanied solo guitar performances, in January by Frank Vignola, Jimmy Bruno, and Dave Stryker.

Whether you’ve heard guitarist Dave Stryker leading his own group (with 28 CD’s as a leader to date), co-leading The Stryker/Slagle Band, Blue To The Bone or as a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others, you know why the Village Voice calls him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years.”
