Today, the iconic voice of heartland rock, Bob Seger, celebrates his 80th trip around the sun. Eight decades strong and still moving listeners deeply, Seger is more than a rock musician—he is the soulful narrator of American life's joys, struggles, hopes, and dreams. Born Robert Clark Seger on May 6, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Seger found his way into music as a teenager, forging a style steeped in rhythm, blues, rock, and unpretentious storytelling. His gravelly voice became the resonant heartbeat for generations.
