We’re taking over Wilmington’s Brooklyn Arts District (BAD) for a full day and night of world-class music, immersive art, and vibrant culture.

The inaugural installment of BAD Day will feature two outdoor stages that will set the soundtrack with an eclectic mix of bluegrass, funk, reggae, house, and beyond—headlined by the legendary Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country + more!

Later in the night, the energy shifts to an evening celebration at The Eagle’s Dare, featuring Lettuce + a Femme House after party with DOMii and See Bird Go!

Beyond the music, explore the closed streets of the Brooklyn Arts District, transformed into a bustling festival village with:

☀️ Arts & crafts vendors, pop-ups, and galleries showcasing local and regional talent

☀️ Live mural painting by celebrated and emerging artists

Mike Mattison & Trash Magic Bio:

Mike Mattison is a singer/songwriter and founding member of the blues/roots group Scrapomatic. He has been a member of the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Derek Trucks Band for 22 years, and has penned some of their signature tunes including  “Midnight In Harlem” which presently has over 45 million streams on Spotify. With the TTB and DTB, Mattison has won two Grammys for Best Blues Album, eight Blues Music Awards from the Blues Music Foundation and four Canadian Maple Blues Awards. He has performed on five continents in two decades of touring and in every state except Alaska. He is the author, with Prof. Ernest Suarez of Catholic University, of “Poetic Song Verse: Blues-based Music and Poetry” published by the University Press of Mississippi in 2021. He is a native Minnesotan and graduate of Harvard University.

“Turn a Midnight Corner” is Mattison’s third solo outing, featuring players from Tedeschi Trucks Band/Scrapomatic — Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell on drums; Dr. John/Susan Tedeschi Band/Scrapomatic -- Dave Yoke on guitar; Los Lobos satellite member, Greg Spradlin on guitar, and Atlanta session man Wesley Flowers on bass. The record is loosely based on a fictional 1930s blues duo who are “rediscovered” in the early 1970s. Mattison is hard at work on a novella of the same name.
