The sonic adventurers of the Northeast will again “follow the arrow” to Griffin House on Friday, June 28, when pianist-composer Marco Benevento brings his family-friendly Follow The Arrow Festival back for its fourth edition. Running 2 p.m.–11 p.m. and presented by Back Home Cannabis Co., this year’s gathering expands on the event’s reputation for boundary-blurring performances and immersive, art-laden atmospheres nestled in the foothills of the Catskills.
Benevento—praised by NPR Music for melding “the thrust of rock, the questing of jazz and the experimental ecstasy of jam” and hailed by Rolling Stone for his “deceptively rich, catchy melodies”—will headline with the bold, psychedelic grooves that have made him a must-see from Carnegie Hall to Pickathon. Joining him is a genre-crossing lineup that mirrors the festival’s spirit of fearless exploration: the soaring disco-soul harmonies of Say She She; Brazilian jazz-funk legends Azymuth; vintage-tinged soul-psych trio Brainstory; a cinematic, funk-driven DJ set from El Michels Affair; the boundary-pushing jazz-electronic alchemy of Cochemea; a home-grown turn from the Benevento Family Band; the haunting indie folk of Camp Saint Helene; and vinyl-deep cuts spun by Tubby’s Kingston.
True to its name, Follow The Arrow points far beyond the stage. Festival-goers can expect live art installations, vibrant visual projections, local food and craft vendors, and plenty of wide-open space for families to explore. With sweeping mountain views as its backdrop, Griffin House transforms into a creative playground where music, community, and imagination intersect—inviting attendees to “follow the music, follow the energy, follow The Arrow.”
