Ross Flora, the Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist, will release his highly anticipated new album The Garden on September 19, 2025. Blending Americana, country, and Southern rock, the record reflects Flora’s deep musical roots and relentless passion for storytelling.

“Music is therapy, the oldest language on earth,” says Flora. “It speaks to us in ways we don’t even recognize. In all my songs, I try to create a journey that leaves the listener in a different place than they were before they heard it.”

Born and raised on a farm in Franklin County, Virginia, Flora’s earliest musical education came from singing harmonies with his father in church. His path truly took shape when, at age 12, his father caught him playing along to a Van Halen record and immediately signed him up for guitar lessons. By his teens, he was already performing across the South Atlantic, and at 19 he joined Roanoke-based band The Kings as guitarist and vocalist.

Since moving to Nashville in 2012, Flora has performed more than 5,000 shows, both as a solo artist and with bands including Johnny T Band and Smoke n’ Guns, opening for acts such as Love and Theft, Blackberry Smoke, and Dustin Lynch. His sound fuses soulful guitar work with bold, emotionally driven lyrics inspired by influences ranging from Gregg and Duane Allman to Chris Cornell, Stevie Wonder, and Ian Thornley.

An English major with a love of Emily Dickinson, Henry David Thoreau, and Walt Whitman, Flora weaves literary depth into his songwriting. His past releases include the debut single “Cannonball” (2022), the Shoulders of Giants EP (2022), Part of Me (2023, recorded at Blackbird Studios), and As the Crow Flies (2024), a collaboration with hit songwriter Jason Nix.

Beyond the stage, Flora is known for his boundless energy and colorful personal history: he grew up raising cows, worked summers as a milkman, is a lifelong motorcycle rider, a certified scuba diver, and a diehard fan of racing legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. He now plays more than 300 shows a year, keeping a relentless touring schedule while holding residencies at Nashville venues.

With The Garden, Ross Flora continues to push forward with grit, soul, and Southern storytelling—inviting listeners to step into a musical landscape that is as raw and real as the life that inspired it.
