Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival (OMF) returns for its 10-year reunion with a renewed spirit – and a nod to the rich legacy of music and visual artistry. To mark the occasion, OMF has partnered with British artist Nigel Waymouth, whose visionary poster designs defined the psychedelic era, to create an original artwork for the 2026 event. Set for March 19-22, 2026, the beloved Florida independent music festival’s upcoming first gathering in three years will take place in the magical South Florida nature paradise of Sunshine Grove and promises a powerful reconnection with music, art, and community.

Known for co-producing iconic posters that helped define the aesthetic of the psychedelic era, the new piece for Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2026 sees Waymouth returning to poster art for the first time in decades, continuing his lifelong celebration of peace, love, and life in color. An exclusive behind-the-scenes mini-documentary detailing the screen printing process of the Okeechobee art as well as Waymouth’s storied past as an artist and historic ties to music and popular culture, premieres today on YouTube.

A true icon of art, fashion, music, and culture, Nigel Waymouth has influenced generations of artists and musicians across the globe. Born in India but raised in Argentina, Waymouth moved to England in 1954, where he completed his education at University College London. In February 1966,  Waymouth launched the now-legendary King’s Road boutique, Granny Takes a Trip, for which he designed clothes and the regularly changing shopfronts that were its signature feature. He soon teamed with fellow artist Michael English as the graphic design partnership, Hapshash & The Coloured Coat, and together they created many of the quintessential psychedelic pop posters of that era that continue to define the era. Indeed, their work with such artists as Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and many others is now part of the permanent collection of London’s Victoria and Albert Museum and is often featured prominently in retrospective exhibitions worldwide.

Since 1970, Waymouth has pursued a career as a fine artist, focusing on painting and portraiture, with many of his works now included in distinguished public and private collections. Having lived in California for over a decade, Waymouth now lives in London, where he continues to create masterful works of art – including the visionary Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2026 poster, marking his first original music poster art since the 1970s.

Okee reminded me of something: not the scene, but the spirit,” says Nigel Waymouth. “I felt it was time for a little revival, to show the next generation what their forefathers have produced. With this piece and all of my art, I hope to remind everyone to always give peace a chance!”

"I wanted to create a poster that would last for eternity, and bring the art back into the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, while providing a platform that highlights talented artists,” says OMF Founder and Soundslinger Chairman Rechulski. “That's where the initial thought came from. Nowadays, generally speaking, lineup posters are inundated with artist names, and one cannot appreciate the art. I wanted to mark the moment by having a different artist interpret the art for the festival every year, starting with Nigel Waymouth. The whole process has been a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about.”
