One of the most unapologetically original bands to come out of Cleveland in years has announced its first festival, The Freakstomp Music Festival. Taking place Aug 11 - 13 in Medina, OH (50 miles from Cleveland) Tropidelic will treat fans to two nights of music, with the support of many other notable bands and performers. Tickets for the entire weekend are available for just $60, which includes both camping and parking.

While many acts from the progressive rock era of the 1970s still perform, none play with the precision, conviction, and authority of King Crimson. A Bold statement you say? Without bringing other specific acts into a debate, it all boils down to the devotion and continued creative drive of founding visionary Robert Fripp.

In 1988, on the eve of a two-decade civil war, Somalia’s authoritarian ruler Siad Barre launched punishing air strikes on the north of the country, known today as Somaliland, in response to agitations for independence. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Jeff Tweedy makes his debut on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight performing “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” from his forthcoming solo acoustic album Together At Last. In an unprecedented booking Tweedy makes back-to-back appearances on the show, returning Tuesday to perform “I’m Always In Love” also from the aforementioned new release, which is available Friday on Wilco’s dBpm Records.
