Among deadheads and weir-dos across Colorado the cheerful feeling was mutual as the crowd poured out of the Fillmore Auditorium Friday night after Bob Weir and RatDog threw down a celebration in the heart Denver.

The Fillmore in Denver has seen Trey Anastasio with four different bands in the past years. In '99 he arrived with Tony Markelis and Russ Lawton as his inaugural solo project.

The year is 2005.

My earliest memory of feeling connected to spirit (or God, as I call that wonderful force in my life), happened far away from any man-made church.  It happened when the noise of the world was (literally) drowned out by the noise of my motorcycle, and my feeling of peace and stillness was exaggerated by the confines of the helmet on my head.  I felt alone, as if I was the captain of my destiny, setting my course and making my own decisions.  And strangely, at the same time, realizing I was not alone.  That there would be something, some force, some life-giving f

The Dead Guise formerly known by the name Ded Guise pronounced "dead guys" came about during a discussion from founding members; Ken Younger, Bill DeSmit, Dan Albers and Dan Cuervo- on what to name the band. "Since we're a bunch of guys who play Dead music, let's call us Dead Guys" exclaimed Ken. Dan noted that to be really "out there" and provide a more original approach that it should spelled the "Ded Guise."
