The leading line-up of special guests has been announced for “A 60th Anniversary Doors Celebration” at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 30.

Robby Krieger, the legendary guitarist of The Doors, is gearing up for “A 60th Anniversary Doors Celebration” at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 30. This historic show will honor the pioneering Los Angeles band’s iconic 1970 MORRISON HOTEL album, which features the classics “Roadhouse Blues,” Waiting For The Sun,” and “Peace Frog,” along with all the Doors’ hits.

Continuing a year-long 60th-anniversary celebration, The Doors have unveiled a new collaboration with Apple Maps, chronicling the historic places that shaped The Doors’ music and art – from their Californian roots to their European memories. Twenty locations are included in the guide, such as the iconic Whisky a Go Go, where the band cemented its legacy and where Robby Krieger will begin a monthly legacy later this month.

Igniting a year-long 60th-anniversary celebration, The Doors will unveil their iconic Bright Midnight Archives live recordings on DSPs for the very first time throughout 2025. These coveted concerts previously only existed physically on limited-edition LPs and CDs. Today marks a momentous occasion with the first live release in the series, Live at the Matrix 1967: The Original Masters, available now for streaming and download.

In the Summer of 1965, Ray Manzarek had a chance encounter on Venice Beach with Jim Morrison, a young poet whom he knew when they were both students at UCLA’s film school. Jim told Ray he had been living on a friend’s rooftop writing songs. Though Morrison had never intended to be a singer, he sat down on the beach and sang the new songs to Ray, including “Moonlight Drive.” Manzarek thought they were the best rock and roll lyrics he ever heard.
