Prohibition Productions and New York Hot Jazz Camp are pleased to announce their partnership for the 2nd annual GOTHAM JAZZ FESTIVAL to be held Sunday, April 8th (12pm to 1am) at The Players Club on Gramercy Park South.

Huddie William Ledbetter became the iconic figure, Lead Belly, in the music world during the first half of the 20th century. Although he played piano, mandolin, harmonica, violin, and diatonic accordion known as a windjammer, he was best known for his virtuosity on the twelve-string guitar. According to Dan McClenaghan of allthat jazz.com, “Lead Belly was one of the more polished of the delta blues artists, relatively speaking.”

The Mike Stern Band featuring Teymur Phell and Richie Morales will headline the 7th Les Paul Festival Concert at Ramapo College on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the Berrie Center’s Sharp Theater at 8:00 p.m.  The annual festival celebrates Mahwah resident Les Paul’s innovative spirit as a musician and technologist by hosting a week of guest speakers and workshops for Ramapo’s music students culminating in a concert for the college and regional community.

We are pleased to announce our October Jazz Festival: a comprehensive presentation of the Music of Gerry Mulligan featuring four full days of concerts that showcase Gerry's musical legacy from the beginning to the end. As usual the concerts will be loaded with all of the great west coast based jazz giants as well as Mulligan alumni and associates.

The NJCU Alumni Jazz Big Band will perform a 100th Birthday Salute to Four Jazz Icons, featuring the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, and Thelonious Monk on the J. Owen Grundy Pier, Exchange Place, in Jersey City on Friday, September 15 at 6:00 p.m. Conducted by recently retired NJCU Professor Richard Lowenthal, this free concert features the renowned trumpeter Jon Faddis and the acclaimed young jazz singer Cyrille Aimée.

This Grammy™ ̶ nominated big band has been recording and performing in major jazz performance spaces and universities around the United States since 2000.

City Parks Foundation is proud to announce the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival.
