After coming from a successful tour of the East Coast and SXSW, Dru Cutler returns to NYC for stint of shows to celebrate the release of his new album Bring Closer the Distance. The record includes the hypnotically percussive mystical rocker “Oceanside” which was praised in NO DEPRESSION and STEREO STICKMAN. Its musical intensity provides the foundation for musings about the solace that mother nature provides during times of intense tribulation.

Reflecting on the intense sea change in America’s social and political systems, the Brooklyn based singer/songwriter and rocker – who has been described as “Ryan Adams meets Pink Floyd” - was also drawn to Leonard Cohen’s classic “Dance Me To the End of Love.” Cutler’s re-imagining turns Cohen’s waltz into “a more modern dancehall piece, dirtier in the club while doing shots of whiskey.”

Unit J

After moving to Brooklyn NY, Cutler co-founded a collective music space called Unit J. It's a giant warehouse that’s been converted into a venue. They started off as six folks with five couches, but they've grown into a thriving community that has showcased for Brooklyn's Northside Festival, SoFar Sounds, Red Gorilla Music Festival and the Florida Music Festival.

April 13: Vinyl listening party at NoHo Sound where Dru will give an intimate acoustic performance.  Bring Closer The Distance will be played in its entirety. At the NoHo sound event, Dru will be selling a very limited number of records signed by the entire band. Because Tom Kersey (the Cellist on the record) lives in FL, this won’t be something that will happen again. This is a limited run.
