Marrying rock & roll with country music has been the lifeblood of Richie Furay, who was instrumental in creating the country-rock genre as a founding member of Buffalo Springfield and Poco. On his exhilarating new studio album, In the Country, due out on July 8 via Renew Records/BMG, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer shares this deep musical affection through his distinctive interpretations of iconic country tunes.

In The Country’s first single and lead track, “Somebody Like You," (Keith Urban) showcases Furay’s wonderfully sublime vocals supported by a blistering guitar, plaintive pedal steel, and sweet, twangy harmonies.

WATCH the video HERE. LISTEN to the track HERE.

His first studio album in seven years, Furay has filled In the Country with songs that he has loved and admired over the years. The twelve-song set features his masterful versions of such chart-topping country classics as “The River” (Garth Brooks), “I’m In a Hurry and I Don’t Know Why” (Alabama), and “I Hope You Dance” (Lee Ann Womack). Also included are the crossover hits “Take Me Home, Country Roads” (John Denver) and “Walking in Memphis” (Marc Cohn), as well as Rickie Nelson’s 1958 smash “Lonesome Town” and the Julie Miller-penned Americana gem “Chalk.” Plus, there are two exclusive digital bonus tracks: Furay’s new rendition of Poco’s signature song “Pickin’ Up the Pieces.” and George Strait’s hit, “I Cross My Heart.”

To bring this dream project together, Furay teamed with his old pal, multi-Grammy Award-winning producer Val Garay (Linda Ronstadt, Kim Carnes, James Taylor), and recorded at Nashville’s legendary Blackbird Studio. Garay assembled a group of stellar Nashville session musicians: drummer Victor Indrizzo, bassist Glenn Worf, keyboardist Steven Jay Nathan, pedal steel player Dan Dugmore, and guitarists Tom Bukovac and Chris Leuzinger.

Special guest appearances include John Berry, who duets with Furay on his hit “Your Love Amazes Me,” while country superstar Vince Gill joined Furay on “Lonesome Town.” In The Country also features Jason Scheff (Chicago) and Furay’s fellow Poco alum and Eagles bassist/vocalist Timothy B. Schmit.

After an astonishing 60-year career in music that included pivotal positions in Buffalo Springfield, Poco, the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band, as well as several solo albums, Richie Furay feels In the Country represents something particularly special. “I believe that there is always a reason for everything,” he confides. “And I believe that the timing for this record is going to be so refreshing for so many people who have struggled so much with what we’ve gone through that it’s going to be a breath of fresh air for everybody.” www.richiefuray.com

In The Country is available for pre-order on April 22. An exclusive vinyl release for Record Store Day on June 18 with a worldwide release on all digital platforms and configurations available on July 8 on Renew Records/BMG.

Multi-faceted singer, songwriter, guitarist and voice actor Dan Navarro will release his new album Horizon Line on August 26 via his own Red Hen label. Horizon Line is the long-awaited follow-up to Navarro’s 2018 NACC Top Ten Folk Album Shed My Skin.

“Horizon Line is a declaration of purpose, renewal, commitment, and elucidation of the ‘why’ behind a life on stage, in the studio, and on the road,” states Navarro. The initial two singles, “Circling the Drain” and “She Dreams in Music,” spin uplifting tales of the beauty of time well spent in the joy of soulful commitment.

Listen to “Circling the Drain” HERE and “She Dreams in Music” HERE.

Produced by seven-time Grammy®-winner Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Dixie Chicks, Foo Fighters, Tedeschi-Trucks), Horizon Line is an emphatic homecoming for Navarro and Scott, who produced six albums for Lowen & Navarro (Dan’s revered duo with the late Eric Lowen) from 1990-1998, and in 2008, defining the harmony duo’s sound. Navarro was inspired to capture the energy, sonic quality and impact of those albums with Scott. On Navarro’s first tour after thirteen months of Covid lockdown, while driving cross-country in his NomadDan tour van, he phoned Jim to ask, “Can we do what we used to do?” Scott heartily replied, “yes!” and a plan was underway. Recorded at Navarro’s Plyrz Studios in Rancho Mirage, CA, over twenty-five days, Horizon Line recaptures the fullness and immediacy of their early work, with added sharpness thanks to decades’ more experience.

The ten songs tell a story of dedication, energy and persistence, with a greater sense of optimism than previous Navarro albums. The title track, “Horizon Line,” declares that Dan’s relentless drive is non-negotiable, charging into the vanishing point for the sheer love of music and connection with an audience. That audience grew in pandemic lockdown via 250+ “Songs from the CoronaZone” living room live streams, spawning a dedicated “DanFam™” hungry for engagement in isolation.

“Rose In the Window” and “Tar Pit” weave pithier tales of the search for connection, told with both a weathered heart and wry wit. “Come Around (January’s Child)” is an older song, written when Dan was just 21, that found new life in the 2020 live streams. “Oklahoma Skies,” “Hopeful Hearts,” and “Sleep Tonight” tread more familiar ground, deep in poignancy, always with a sense of redemption and renewal.

Horizon Line is an album Navarro has worked his entire career to make. Rich in sound, deft in its execution, deep in emotions, he is focused on where he is going – to the next connection, the next stage, the next town, the next feeling, just beyond the Horizon Line.

Navarro is currently on his cross country “NomadDan” Tour with stops including the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Goshen, CT, from July 29 to July 31, plus Los Angeles, CA; Ann Arbor, MI and Annapolis, MD. Initial dates are listed below with more to be added.

In his first album to dive deep into the blues, Marc Broussard's S.O.S.4: Blues For Your Soul officially debuts at #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart. The impressive album also reigned at #1 on the iTunes Blues Chart. The latest effort underscores the Louisiana renowned vocalist's love of the blues and first-time collaboration with modern blues icon Joe Bonamassa, who produced and contributed sizzling guitar solos on various tracks alongside longtime collaborator Josh Smith. S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul is the fourth edition of Broussard's ongoing philanthropic (Save Our Soul) album series, released via Bonamassa's Keeping the Blues Alive Records. Broussard stated, "They say there's a first time for everything, but I never expected this. We had a blast making this record, and thank you all for your support!"

On S.O.S. 4: Blues For Your Soul, Broussard embraces and delivers compelling renditions of blues and soul classics from such legends as Little Milton's "That's What Love Will Make You Do," Bobby 'Blue' Bland's "I've Got to Use My Imagination," Son House's "Empire State Express," Al Green's "Driving Wheel," Johnny "Guitar" Watson's "Cuttin' In," to Howlin' Wolf's "I Asked for Water" and the sole Broussard original, co-written with Josh Smith and Calvin Turner, "When Will I Let Her Go." Produced by Bonamassa and Josh Smith with executive producer Roy Weisman, Marc Broussard has achieved something with all the elements of a classic alb m. With special guests like Bonamassa, Smith, Roddie Romero, Bobby Junior, JJ Grey, Eric Krasno, and old pal Calvin Turner, it is a gathering of an esteemed musical tribe.

A portion of proceeds from this Save Our Soul Album will be donated to Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation to support youth rehabilitation through music. This includes a partnership with Guitars Over Guns, a Miami-based nonprofit that offers students from the most vulnerable communities a powerful combination of music education and mentorship.

S.O.S. 4: Blues For Your Soul also spotlights Broussard's long-running involvement in charitable endeavors. S.O.S. (Save Our Soul) is his ongoing series of benefit albums that each support a different cause for each album.

Time is a Thief

Written by Marc Broussard and Joe Stark

I don't wanna believe that I'm dying, Yet I can't help but notice

That I'm barely hanging on

I wanna believe that I'm trying, but every time I open my eyes

The world's on fire

See the same thing that drives your passion

Is the same thing that makes us cold

And like every modern fashion

What once was new will soon be old

Cuz time is a thief

Yeah, in this life, there's no guarantees

Time's gonna teach you

That you can't cheat time, Ain't no lie

Time is a thief

Just ticking along no matter where you're going

So, what are you willing to do

With your time

I know it's hard to believe it gets better, but take it from me when you just change your gaze

You can change your ways

If they don't wanna believe, just forget them, Cuz you can lead a horse to water

But they'll never drink 'til they wanna

The same thing that drives your passion

Is the same thing that makes us cold

And like every modern fashion

What you bought last week is already old

Cuz time is a thief

Yeah, in this life there's no guarantees

Time's gonna teach you

That you can't cheat time, Ain't no lie

Time is a thief

Just ticking along no matter where you're going

So, what're you willing to do

With your time
