The Bergamot says: "'Paradise' is a song about letting go of our devices and learning to live again. There is no hope in chasing lies. The song was composed at a time when we could not move about freely - yet the desire to travel and see others was greater than ever."

The Bergamot is an American indie rock band, consisting of Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece. The duo met in South Bend, IN at Marian High School, where they started making music together. On October 20th, 2017 they released the dreamy anthem "P.D.R." The single launched the band's career, and they were then discovered by Matt Wiggins (Adele, U2, Glass Animals).

In early 2020, after traveling to London to record “Mayflies” with Wiggins, The Bergamot was invited to open for OneRepublic. When COVID hit, every tour date was lost. Upon this massive shift, the band focused on finishing their feature length documentary “State of the Unity” and new album 'Far Out.'

This spring, The Bergamot released their documentary "State of the Unity," scoring instant critical acclaim. The film and band won the prestigious "Marion Herrman Excellence in Filmmaking Award" at the Sedona International Film Festival and “Best Documentary Feature” at the Paris Independent Film Festival and “Best Documentary” from the Art Film Awards as well as being Official Selection at the Richmond International Film Festival, Swedish Independent Film Festival, and Atlanta Docufest.
