Folk-rock singer-songwriter Joshua Dylan Balis is bringing his headlining WE’RE ON FIRE tour to the Skylark Lounge (140 South Broadway) in Denver, CO on Wednesday, June 15th. Touring in support of his recently released critically-acclaimed debut LP We’re On Fire (State Fair Records), Josh was hailed as an artist that recognizes ‘substance over style,’ (Dallas Morning News) and one with ‘profoundly existential depth to his lyrics’ (Holler). Josh will perform with Emery Adeline and Nina & The Moonlighters. Doors open at 7p.m. The show starts at 8p.m. Josh takes the stage for a full-band performance at 10p.m. Tickets are available here: https://bit.ly/3x8tpPr.

Featured by American Songwriter, KETR “Notably Texan,” Folk N Rock, the Dallas Morning News, Holler, and The Bluegrass Situation, We’re On Fire (State Fair Records) combines Josh’s love for Americana-roots and folk-inspired Rock. Josh self-produced ten of the eleven songs and wrote all of the songs, shortly after experiencing an unexpected brush with death trying to make his way out of his Dallas apartment, after the building caught fire. In the days following that pivotal moment, he fully realized that we’re only given so much time, and like fuel to a fire, time eventually runs out.

We’re On Fire details Josh’s personal transformation since then, as he examines life’s choices, what ignites them, and contemplates finding purpose in an impermanent world. His deeply profound reflections and emotionally-affecting lyrics are thoughtful and have quickly garnered rave reviews with the Dallas Observer acknowledging the authenticity of the emerging songwriter’s riveting storytelling, lauding “a stunning example of what an artist can do when allowed to create in his own voice.”

Listen to We’re On Fire here.

Named a “jangly heartland rocker” (Dallas Observer) and a song “that immediately takes you back to another time” (Holler), Josh’s current radio single “Lydia” recently shipped to Triple A, Americana and Non-comm stations. “Lydia” follows Josh’s previously released songs “Stories” and title track “We’re On Fire” which quickly notched an impressive 52,000 streams on YouTube. Josh is signed to Dallas-based State Fair Records and grew up in a family of accomplished musicians including his grandmother Evelyn, who was a backup vocalist for Patsy Cline during her Hayride circuit, and his father Danny Balis, the co-owner of the Twilite Lounge music venue (Dallas / Fort Worth) and bassist of the band Bastards of Soul. Southern rock band Them Dirty Roses, made up of brothers James and Frank Ford and childhood best friends Ben Crain and Andrew Davis are announcing the release of their new single “Birmingham Steel”, coming out on May 15th, 2024.

“Birmingham Steel” was co-written by all four band members and collaborators Phillip White and James LeBlanc, and was recorded at the iconic FAME studios. Inspired by the band’s home state of Alabama, the song highlights Alabama’s steel industry as a metaphor for a solid, sturdy relationship.

Them Dirty Roses teased their new single across social platforms earlier this morning, view the post (HERE).

Bred in ‘Bama clay, Them Dirty Roses grew up together and eventually dedicated an era to building a brotherhood as “warrior musicians out to capture Southern rock glory and immortality, or die trying” (Saving Country Music). Making the move to Nashville, they packed their RV with vintage gear and spent time living together under the same roof, while building a loyal legion of fans, and relentlessly touring across the country.

The result was a chemistry akin to some of the most well-known, legendary Southern rock bands and a story built independently on grit and sweat - garnering over 800,000 Spotify listeners, more than 353K followers across social media platforms, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at their live shows.

Their powerful wall of sound, characterized by fiery riffs, soaring guitar solos, harmonized backing vocals and songs led by the Lead Vocalist James Ford, offer crowds a sense of authenticity and sincerity -  a mix of sharp songwriting and down-home swagger, of melody and muscle, of grooves and Gibson guitars — nods to the legends of the south who came before them.

"Everybody came into this band with their own favorite kind of music," says Andrew Davis, Lead Guitarist. "When you smash it all together, this sound is what you get. Without those years living on top of each other in Nashville, we might not have tapped into this feeling where we get onstage and can all feel what's coming next. It's intuitive."

Eventually returning to their home state of Alabama, that intuition gave rise to new music including their current single “Birmingham Steel” and previously-released “Candle In The Dark,” both off a forthcoming EP (to be announced). Their forthcoming EP will follow their previously-released, self-titled album Them Dirty Roses and Lost In The Valley of Hate & Love Vol 1.

With more shows on the horizon, their “unmistakable southern down home rock and roll sound” (Gadsden Messenger) has catapulted them to some of the most coveted stages at major festivals including ShipRocked, LJT Fest, and Gulf Coast Jam.

Signed to WME, Them Dirty Roses are currently touring in support of their new music and announcing their 2024 spring/summer tour (full tour dates listed below).* For more information, visit https://www.themdirtyroses.com/.

Southern rock band Them Dirty Roses are laying their cards on the table with the release of their new single, “A Bad Hand,” today. Co-written by all four members—brothers James and Frank Ford, and childhood best friends Ben Crain and Andrew Davis—the high-energy single is a twist on high stakes and heartbreak. “A Bad Hand” is available at digital retailers everywhere today: here.

"Recording 'A Bad Hand' was a blast. We aimed to mix the energy of Southern rock with the storytelling of outlaw country and throw a subtle nod to the classic rockabilly sound. It’s got that punchy, foot-stomping rhythm that gets the crowd moving, but with lyrics that tell a deeper story,” said Andrew Davis, Lead Guitarist.

Featured by Whiskey Riff, Country vs. Metal, Raised Rowdy, Loudwire, Saving Country Music, AL.com, and Substream, Them Dirty Roses have toured heavily, making a name for themselves with "performances that are fiercely original" (Shutter 16 Magazine). Signed to WME, the band is touring nationwide (tour dates below) and will bring their Southern rock sound to Nashville with their recently announced show at Mercy Lounge on Oct. 4th. Tickets are on sale now: here.

Most recently, Them Dirty Roses teamed up with renowned metal fabricator Alicia Butty, who is featured in the music video for their previously-released song “Birmingham Steel,” paying tribute to the Birmingham steel industry and its workers. View the official music video here.

Southern rock torchbearers, Them Dirty Roses, comprised of brothers James and Frank Ford alongside childhood best friends Ben Crain and Andrew Davis, are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated EP Lost In The Valley Of Hate & Love Vol 2, set for release in May 2025. The EP retains the autobiographical depth of its predecessor while blending Southern rock with heartfelt tributes to the South, Birmingham’s steel legacy, and multi-generational family ties. Them Dirty Roses continue to deliver the high-octane sound that has defined their live performances, all while exploring new sonic territory.

In celebration of the upcoming release, the band has dropped their new single, "All Good In The Neighborhood," available now across all streaming platforms. The track was premiered exclusively by Rolling Stone, which praised the band as "the Southern rock band you’ve been waiting for." Listen to "All Good In The Neighborhood" here.

Drummer Frank Ford reflected on the creation process, saying, "There’s a little bit of everything from rock to country in this album. Each song has its own kind of sound and can stand on its own. We were able to work with some amazing writers like Phillip White and James LeBlanc at the legendary FAME studios where some of my favorite songs of all time were recorded. It really felt like we tapped into the magic of the place."

Lead guitarist Andrew Davis added, "Our longtime fans have seen and heard us grow up in real time. This dual-EP project is the canvas on which those stories are painted. From desire, to heartbreak, to anger... everything is real and visceral."

The upcoming EP ushers in a sonic evolution for Them Dirty Roses, with standout tracks recorded across the South, including at the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Songs like "Candle In The Dark" and "Birmingham Steel" (a tribute to Alabama’s steel industry) showcase the band’s powerful wall of sound, a blend of driving riffs, heartfelt lyrics, and Southern authenticity.

The new single, "All Good In The Neighborhood," tells the gripping tale of a man in trouble after leaving his hometown in Etowah County. He reflects on his father’s advice and fantasizes about returning to simpler Alabama life while sitting in a Tallahassee jail. This track follows the release of "A Bad Hand," "Candle In The Dark," and "Birmingham Steel."

Having garnered attention from Whiskey Riff, Country vs. Metal, Raised Rowdy, Loudwire, AL.com, and Saving Country Music, Them Dirty Roses are known for their fiery riffs, soaring guitar solos, and raw, down-home swagger. With nearly one million monthly Spotify listeners and over 186 million streams, the band has earned a devoted following and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at their live shows.

Catch Them Dirty Roses live as they bring their Southern rock sound to Nashville’s The Mil at Cannery Hall on October 4th, 2024. Tickets are available now at Prekindle.
