World music/jazz guitarist Jesse Cook has scheduled 32 highly-anticipated U.S. concerts to support the release of his ninth studio album, One World (eOne Music). Cook’s release, which debuted at No. 1 on the jazz and world music charts in his native Canada, was released in the U.S. on October 2 and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums. The upcoming tour, beginning on January 28, 2016, will highlight the Juno Award winner’s latest album – an adventurous sonic exploration drawing on the sounds and cultural wonders of Constantinople as inspiration.

Live in concert, with his sonically diverse and distinctive repertoire, Cook commands the stage with an elegant balance of subtlety, in-the-moment honesty and blazing technical prowess. Whether he’s showing off his furious finger-picking skills or slowing things down, this global guitar virtuoso delivers an unforgettable, can’t-miss live performances.

Cook’s popularity as a captivating performer has been bolstered exponentially in recent years by PBS concert specials, including “Jesse Cook: Live at the Bathurst Theatre,” which continues to air on public television stations across the nation. Now, with his upcoming U.S. tour beginning in Portland in January, audiences across the nation can see him live.

Cook composed and produced the 11-track One World, an aural journey showcasing the Paris-born, Toronto-raised artist’s cultured amalgamation of flamenco, jazz, gypsy, rumba, pop and classical guitar. And instead of exploring cul de sacs of music— he united them. “On this record, it’s not really about going someplace,” he says of the album, whose cover depicts a vast, ancient tree. “The idea is that there really is just one world. If you pull your focus back far enough, you start to see all music as being branches of the same tree. They’re all connected to the same trunk from way back.”

The album is rife with runs and riffs demonstrating his dazzlingly dexterity and features centuries-old instrumentation from all over the globe existing side-by-side with modern technology to create interesting beats and inventive sounds.  Cook places his guitar on One World amidst carefully-crafted instrumental beds and rhythmic loops, textured audioscapes, technological experimentation, mystic melodies, evocative harmonies and contemplative meditations to create a work that just may be the most experimental of his career.

WHO:

Genre-bending musical group Greensky Bluegrass and HYFI, the leading destination for the highest quality live entertainment and on-demand concert programming on the internet.

WHAT:

Greensky Bluegrass recently announced their live tour project, “The Leap Year Sessions” and held a successful first broadcast of the series last Friday. Tomorrow, Friday, August 14, fans can catch a brand-new show, and can tune-in every Friday throughout August and September for more (8 shows scheduled, with 7 shows remaining).

Greensky Bluegrass’ Paul Hoffman wrote: "After over 100 days without playing music together, we felt like we needed to find a way. We wanted to give our fans some solace and release from troubled times, but we also just needed to be Greensky again. So many canceled shows and plans. The constant stream of loss made us refocus from working to keep our business alive to, “how can we just play some music?” It’s hard to convey how much we needed to just return to the core of what we are. So we traveled to be in the same city and hunkered down for a week creating shows. A series of live performance sessions with our whole crew and a top-notch video production company. We wrote setlists again. We laughed together again. We rehearsed a ton to blow dust of forgotten arrangements and re-discussed why we even chose to play songs the way we do. It had never been so long before. Everything felt familiar and comforting but also so different and fresh.

The joy of reunion compelled us to replace our Wednesday archive stream with a live performance. We were excited to present a show again. The energy was amazing. To feel the attention without a crowd before us was beyond belief. It was miraculous.

When we started showing archival footage and watching it “With” you, there was also a powerful connection happening. Suddenly, we were together again. We look forward to joining you for this brand-new series, “The Leap Year Sessions” and being united in a musical moment created with intention for isolation.

We’ve played “Don’t Lie” and “Weather” before but never after being separated from each other for months. So, while it’s Greensky, it’s also brand new. Tune in and watch us become a band again. Witness us become the audience for each other. Listening like we never have. From the fresh excitement of the beginning to the new musical creations towards the end, I believe it will arc like a tour. a tour like none other...

For certain, we made these for us. Greensky and you. So, we present this from 2020, a longer year saddened by the loss of a live audience, but we know you are out there watching and listening. Please enjoy."

ABOUT GREENSKY BLUEGRASS:

A live force of nature renowned for bringing rock ‘n’ roll showmanship to high-energy bluegrass, Greensky Bluegrass has sold out hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the legendary Ryman Auditorium in addition to igniting stages everywhere from New Orleans Jazz Festival to Austin City Limits, Fuji Rock Festival to Byron Bay Bluesfest and beyond. Their unpredictable performances remain the stuff of legend attracting diehard devotees who typically travel far and wide to experience multiple gigs. Comprised of Anders Beck (dobro), Michael Arlen Bont (banjo), Dave Bruzza (guitar), Mike Devol (upright bass), and Paul Hoffman (mandolin), Greensky Bluegrass is known for pushing the limits of traditional bluegrass. Beck explains, “We’re a rock ‘n’ roll band that plays bluegrass instruments. Bluegrass is such a finite thing. Because you have a banjo and a mandolin, you’re supposed to do it a certain way or you’ll piss off some people. But we’ve always been ourselves.”

Timothy B. Schmit has released “Cross That Line,” a new song that addresses the MeToo Movement along with Donald Trump's ego. Written by Schmit, “Cross That Line” is the first song from a new album he has been recording since the Eagles' “Hotel California Tour” was paused in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Listen to “Cross That Line” HERE.

“I’ve had this song in my back pocket for almost a year now, and I’m not sure why I’ve waited so long to release it,” explains Timothy B. Schmit. “Then it became clear to me about two weeks ago that now is, indeed, the time. There is nothing else I can say about this piece other than the song speaks for itself.”

“Cross That Line” was produced by Schmit and Jeff Peters and features Smokey Hormel (Beck, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond) on lead guitar, Herman Matthews (Tower of Power, Tom Jones) on drums and Greg Leisz (Bon Iver) on steel guitar. Schmit plays bass himself and his three children (Jeddrah Leiterding, Owen Schmit and Ben Schmit) are part of a large chorus that provide backing vocals.

Timothy B. Schmit is one America’s most prolific musicians, with a solo recording career that has produced six albums.  He has appeared on a multitude of other artists’ recordings including Steely Dan, Vince Gill, Dan Fogelberg, Clint Black, Crosby Stills & Nash, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffett, Ringo Starr, Elton John, and Warren Zevon, as well as his contributions to Poco and the Eagles.  Timothy has won three GRAMMY Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received the Kennedy Center Honors as a member of the Eagles.

Oklahoma City-based songwriter/composer/arranger/ producer, Kitt Wakeley today announced his new album, Symphony of Sinners and Saints, will be released on May 21, 2021. The album’s dynamic first single, “Conflicted,” featuring the best-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time, Joe Satriani, will be released tomorrow, Feb. 26, on all major DSPs including iTunes and more. Listen to the single now on YouTube here.

Satriani said about the tracks he played on the album, "Kitt Wakeley's ‘Conflicted’ and ‘Forgive Me’ are epic musical gems full of powerful emotions and sonic surprises. Playing guitar on Kitt’s new album has been a fun, exhilarating experience, and a musical challenge too. Kitt's huge, cinematic sound makes each one of his songs a powerful sonic journey. I’m so happy I was able to contribute to this stellar album.”

About working with Satriani, Wakeley said, “To have someone of Joe’s talent is always a plus, but to have his creativity and input is even better. Add in the fact that he’s an incredibly nice person to work with, and you’ve got pure Satriani magic.”

Following his acclaimed 2018 release, Midnight in Macedonia, Wakeley’s Symphony of Sinners and Saints (released by Studio Seven Media) boasts a cinematic hybrid of orchestral music, rock, and EDM, featuring stunning compositions, heavy guitar riffs, and thundering drums. Like that previous release, which was recorded with the award-winning Macedonia Orchestra and Choir, Symphony of Sinners and Saints incorporates another renowned ensemble, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO). For the October 2020 recording sessions at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios, the RPO was conducted by Cliff Masterson (Little Mix, Kylie Minogue, Il Divo, Oasis).

Wakeley said, “I thought that working at Abbey Road would be an intimidating process when considering all the legendary music that has been made in this iconic setting. Music from the most epic albums and movies have been made in these studios and I’m blessed to see and hear my music come to life in an almost magical sense. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Cliff, and studio staff were phenomenal.”

Masterson stated, “Kitt’s compositions are a fantastically energetic journey through an incredibly creative, sonic landscape. The perfect blend of rock guitars, synths, choir, and full symphony orchestra elevate these tracks to instant 'hairs on the back of the neck’ territory. The RPO played brilliantly, and I could tell they were thoroughly enjoying every minute of these sessions.”

In addition to Wakeley on synths and piano, and Satriani on guitar on two tracks, the album features the talents of guitarists Andy Timmons (Danger Danger, Pink, Olivia Newton-John), Grammy-nominated pianist Paul Loomis, Paige Harwell, and Daniel Uribe, bassist Brent Berry, drummer Ryan Miller, the London Voices choir (Paul McCartney, Luciano Pavarotti, the Hunger Games series), and Dallas’ Gospel of Light Choir. The album was co-produced, engineered, and mixed by three-time Grammy Award-winner Tre Nagella (Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg) at Luminous Sound Studios in Dallas, TX.

Regarding the album’s overall theme, Wakeley said, “Symphony of Sinners and Saints illustrates conflict, and the structure of each song takes the listener on a journey through highs and lows. Darkness and triumph. Orchestra and rock. Instruments calling and answering. From dark modalities to uplifting euphoria. Drama with lush orchestral passages. Although I don’t expect people to analyze the scores themselves, there are very purposeful microscopic orchestrations, notations, arpeggiations, and arrangements that I wrote to foster the sense of conflict.”

The EAGLES - Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill – announce the band’s “Hotel California” 2022 Tour, produced by Live Nation. Concerts have been set in Savannah, GA; Charlotte, NC; Orlando. FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Tampa, FL; Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; and Austin, TX. A listing of 2022 concerts can be found below.

The shows are scheduled to begin at 8 PM. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 3rd at 10 AM local time. A variety of presales are available starting Thursday, December 2nd. Check Eagles.com for complete tour and ticket information.

A limited number of VIP packages will be available starting Thursday, December 2 at 10 AM local. VIP packages include premium seats, exclusive merchandise, parking & more.

The Eagles performed three initial “Hotel California” concerts in 2019 in Las Vegas to rave reviews and critical acclaim. To date, the band has performed more than 30 concerts across 15 U.S. cities.

Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA. After its release in 1976, it topped the charts and won two GRAMMY Awards for "New Kid in Town" and "Hotel California."  Several of the songs from the album have never been performed since the original “Hotel California” tour.  The band’s Their Greatest Hits 1971-1977 is the best-selling U.S. album in history, with the RIAA certifying the collection at 38-times Platinum.

In today’s faddish, fractured, rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons. As the best-selling American band of the ’70s, and one of the top-selling acts of all time, the Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums and topped the singles charts five times. They have won six GRAMMY® Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.
