2017 is only the third year Romanian festival UNTOLD has been in existence, but they’re already putting out some of the most heavyweight line-ups in the world. Now with the initial announcement of seven EDM heavyweights joining the bill, this year’s edition just got even more enticing. Apart from the first seven artists, close to 200 international stars will be added to the line-up over the coming months. From live acts to techno and drum&bass to house, the variety of performers is one of the things that sets UNTOLD apart.

Armin Van Buuren returns to his beloved Romanian crowd after spending over 5 hours on stage last year at UNTOLD, which ended with him wearing the Romanian national football shirt. Martin Garrix also returns after being wowed by the atmosphere last year, now proudly holding the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs #1 spot, which he prised from the hands of his good friends Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike—who make their third consecutive appearance at UNTOLD.

Hardwell represents another big coup for the festival and ensures that the biggest names in Dutch dance music are present, while Axwell & Ingrosso make their landmark first appearance as a duo in Romania. Finally, DIM MAK boss and all-round nice guy and EDM legend Steve Aoki completes this epic line-up announcement, bringing his rowdy sounds to the festival.

UNTOLD’s epic production, amazing crowd and killer line-ups saw it win the Best Major Festival award at the European Festival Awards in its first year in action, setting a very high bar which the team behind it have managed to maintain each year. With over 300,000 people attending the four days to see 150 artists over 10 stages, it’s a huge event.

Situated in the heart of Transylvania, UNTOLD has been blessed with top tier natural surroundings in an area of Europe that has recently been chosen as one of the most coveted destinations. The city has got an international airport, connecting the area with a great list of European metropoles.

Romania’s acclaimed UNTOLD Festival (August 3-6 in Cluj-Napoca) has revealed the first names from its techno line-up, and it’s a seriously hefty proposition.

Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Solomun and Sven Väth all make their debuts at the festival, while Jamie Jones and Dubfire return once again. Chris Liebing brings his industrious sounds, Loco Dice the slick grooves of his Desolat label, Solomun those big melodies and hooks that have seen him rise to prominence, Sven Väth his big room journey genius, Jamie Jones his low-slung house and bassy techno vibes and Dubfire his stripped-back intensity. With such diversity in these first announced acts, it’s guaranteed to be a truly epic programme. These six huge artists represent another real statement of intent from UNTOLD.

The techno line-up will fill the 10,000-capacity Polyvalent Hall indoor arena, with the baying crowd dancing under stunning stellar constellations, intergalactic creatures, cosmic jellyfish and Transylvanian dragons. No expenses will be spared to give the pounding soundtrack a truly spectacular visual accompaniment.

UNTOLD 2017 is already close to sold-out with almost half a year to go. Fans shouldn’t delay in snapping up a ticket before it’s too late at www.untold.com if they want to be part of the 300,000 lucky attendees for this four-day, 150-artist, 10-stage extravaganza—the biggest festival in Romania. Tickets start at €45 for a day ticket and just €100 for the full four-day ticket. Festivalgoers can also explore accommodation options at www.untold.com/accommodation.

After years of being supported by the mighty Tiësto, young star Danny Avila has been given the honour of remixing the man himself.

Tiësto’s recent On My Way single featuring Bright Sparks has proved a massive hit, with the original amassing an incredible 33 million plays on YouTube and Spotify alone. Danny takes it to the big rooms on his feisty remix, pulling out all the stops to create something with his sound boldly stamped all over it.

Avila has received major support and mentoring from Tiësto since the beginning of his career. The Dutch legend personally asked him to play alongside him at Pacha Ibiza, and then took him on tour across Asia, North America and Europe and on Calvin Harris’ arena tour. “He’s smart, respectful, knows his music and most importantly knows how to give the crowd what they came to hear” says Tiësto. “There’s nothing I enjoy more than working with upcoming producers and DJs like Danny who are willing to work hard and who want to win.”

This first production collaboration between this two looks to be the first of many exciting fruits to yield from their relationship. It’s a track very much headed for dancefloor domination this year.

Tiësto feat. Bright Sparks ‘On My Way (Danny Avila Remix)’ is released via Universal Music on March 24. Get your copy here: http://bit.ly/DA-OMW.

Recently, Danny Avila took part in the official ADE Global Sessions in Mumbai, head on over to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for a recap of the tour.
