Long-time YES fans, rejoice! Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman are proud to announce that after a hiatus of 25 years, they are to reform the definitive YES line-up as – Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman (ARW).

Since they last played together in 1990 on the highly successful YES ‘Union Tour’, there have been various hybrid versions of the band. However, none featured the iconic voice of Jon Anderson, the outstanding guitar talent of Trevor Rabin, and the keyboard wizardry of Rick Wakeman. The aim of the band will be to restore the standard of excellence in performance that they established with their 1990 shows - which saw YES members past and present come together for the first (and only) time of the legendary band's career.

"To be able to sing and perform with Rick and Trevor at this time in my life is a treasure beyond words," explains Jon. "I'm so excited to create new music and revisit some of the classic work we created many years ago, it's going to be a musical adventure on so many new levels."

"Trevor and I have wanted to play Yes music together since the Union Tour," adds Rick. "And as for so many of us, there is no Yes music without Jon. The 'Holy Trinity of Yes' is for me, very much a dream come true."

“After 18 years of immersing myself in film scoring, I couldn't be happier to be going out on tour with Jon and Rick,” says Trevor. “After we worked together for the first time on the Union tour in the 90's, we were determined to play together again. It's a dream to be going out with Jon and Rick after so many years. We are all completely dedicated to this project.”

The most successful prog rock group of all time, YES was co-founded by Jon Anderson and the late Chris Squire in 1968 and went on to sell millions of units with releases such as Fragile, Close to The Edge, Tales From Topographic Oceans, Going For The One and 90125, as well as embarking on several record-breaking world tours.

While Rick is associated with the '70s "prog era" of the band (which aw YES become a worldwide stadium headliner) and Trevor associated with the '80s "pop era" of the band (which furthered the band's popularity - including the band's biggest chart success), Jon is the bridge between both factions (as he was a member of both eras).

Not content to rest on past glory, Jon, Trevor and Rick are working on new songs, which are currently being recorded. The band will make its live debut in North America in October/November, followed by the Rest of the World in 2017.

The Rest of the World Tour will be coming to the UK in March 2017, where ARW will be playing nine shows starting at the Cardiff Arena on the 12th and finishing at the Manchester Apollo on the 25th. Additional dates may be added.

Certainly, the most exciting news for long-time YES fans was the recent announcement that three of the group’s best known past members, singer Jon Anderson, guitarist Trevor Rabin, and keyboardist Rick Wakeman - ARW - have united and will be embarking on a world tour starting in early October (October 4th in Orlando, Florida at Hard Rock Live) running through the spring of 2017. And now, it is time to announce who will be joining the trio for live work:

LEE POMEROY (bass)

Lee is an award winning composer and producer, as well as being an in demand session musician. As a professional bass player, Lee has recorded, toured, and performed with a diverse roster of high profile artistes, including Jeff Lynne's ELO, Take That, Steve Hackett and Rick Wakeman. "I have played with arguably the 3 greatest bass players ever, Chris Squire, John Entwistle, and Lee Pomeroy!" says Rick Wakeman." And I can't wait to play with him again!"

LOUIS MOLINO III (drums)

Louis is originally from Philadelphia, and is a Los Angeles-based studio and touring drummer. Lou was an original member of Cock Robin, who released their debut album on Columbia Records. He has worked with producers Bob Ezrin, Eddie Offord, Paul De Villiers, Trevor Horn, Steve Hillage and Ken Scott. He has recorded and/or toured with Trevor Rabin, Julian Lennon, Kim Mitchell, Kenny Loggins, Roger Hodgson, and The Tubes. Lou's work can be heard on such films as Con Air, Tarzan, Armageddon, Training Day, Jack Frost, Glory Road, Bad Boys II, Gone in Sixty Seconds, G-Force and Max. His television credits include Zero Hour, Agent X and 12 Monkeys.

GARY CAMBRA (multi-instrumentalist)

For 20 years, Gary has been the keyboardist, guitarist, and producer for one of rock music's most notorious acts, The Tubes. He has also toured and been a session musician for notable acts, such as Stephen Bishop and Jefferson Starship, and produced and helped in the development of many acts in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas. Gary has composed for film and TV on projects such as, Roseanne Barr' Saturday Night Special on the FOX Network, The Playboy Channel, and films such as, The Blob (Paramount), Under The Gun, and The Peace Effort (PBS).

The most successful prog rock group of all time, YES, was co-founded by Jon Anderson and the late Chris Squire in 1968 and went on to sell millions of units with releases such as Fragile, Close To The Edge, Tales From Topographic Oceans, Going For The One, 90125 and numerous live albums as well as embarking on several record-breaking world tours.

The worldwide ARW Tour is being produced by legendary concert promoter Larry Magid, who is considered an architect and leader of the modern concert business. With over 16,000 concerts to his credit and still counting, he has produced national and international tours for Yes, Richard Pryor, Bette Midler, Stevie Wonder, Robin Williams, Kristin Chenoweth, Earth Wind & Fire, Il Divo, The Allman Brothers Band, Patti LaBelle, Grover Washington Jr. and many others. In 1985 Larry Magid co-produced the American portion of Live Aid and in 2005 he was the producer of Live 8.

Iron Maiden’s The Book of Souls World Tour has been on the road since late February, playing to over 1.5 million fans with 72 shows in 36 counties and six continents. They will play the final show on Thursday, 4th August in Germany at Wacken Open Air Festival. ARTE Concert is going to feature the entire iconic performance on Livestream. The spectacular gig will get lavish camera attention and can be accessed anywhere in the world – a sensational experience for anyone who cannot get to show.

Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood says:

We decided to finish the tour at Wacken as it is the ideal way to end this magical tour playing to 80,000 core metal fans at this legendary Metal festival. Wacken has become such as international event with many thousands of fans from many other countries around the world joining and celebrating with the German fans so it is perfect for the final show of a memorable tour. Everywhere we’ve played the fans have been amazing and the reaction to the new songs and stage show has been phenomenal. The band has loved every minute on stage.

“So when Wacken and ARTE asked us to consider a live stream of our performance there we jumped at the chance to give our fans an end of tour gift. Streaming this final show live globally allows us to thank the many fans we played to so far, and, for those who couldn’t get to see us this time round, a chance to see just how spectacular the live concert is and what they missed!”

Wolfgang Bergmann (ARTE): “The festival summer by ARTE concert is heading for an exceptional highlight, showing a live stream of British legends Iron Maiden performing their final show of an incredible tour at the Wacken Open Air. An audience of millions, in Europe and for the first time worldwide, know by now that ARTE is taking the festivals to anywhere you are.”

Holger Hübner/Thomas Jensen (ICS/Wacken): “We are incredibly happy to be able to give all these Iron Maiden and Wacken Open Air fans, worldwide, this highlight at the close of the spectacular ‘Book of Souls’ Tour. Heavy Metal fans are the best fans in the world, and Iron Maiden fans are unparalleled. It is so brilliant that everybody who could not get a ticket for the W:O:A, will be able to enjoy this ‘Night To Remember’.”

Rock legends IRON MAIDEN continue their hugely successful The Book of Souls World Tour into 2017 with a series of European arena shows opening in Antwerp, Belgium on April 22, Maiden’s first visit to this city since 1981 on the Killers Tour! The band then travel to Germany for shows in Oberhausen, Frankfurt and Hamburg before heading into the UK and Ireland for an extensive series of concerts in May. There will be 8 dates across England in Nottingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham and London, two in Scotland in Glasgow and Aberdeen and one in Cardiff, Wales.

Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris says,

“As it’s been so long since our last full UK arena tour, we really wanted to get to our fans in as many cities as possible. We’re really looking forward to it, especially visiting places we haven’t been to for a very long time like Leeds where we haven’t played since 2005 and Liverpool where we haven’t played since 1990. The whole band is really enjoying this tour and although we love playing festivals and stadiums, it is terrific to return to the intimacy and atmosphere of arenas. The songs from The Book Of Souls album and the new Maya-themed Eddies and stage sets have gone down really well and fan reaction has been amazing. And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, which we will continue to do.”

Following the hugely successful launch of their North America tour, which kicked off last week to rave reviews, former YES members Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman (ARW) have announced a second London date to their 2017 March UK tour.

Due to overwhelming demand, ARW will now play Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on Saturday 18th of March in addition to Sunday 19th. They will be playing ten shows starting at the Cardiff Arena on the 12th and finishing at the Manchester Apollo on the 25th, full list of dates below.

While Rick is associated with the '70s "prog era" of the band (which saw YES become a worldwide stadium headliner) and Trevor associated with the '80s "pop era" of the band (which furthered the band's popularity - including the band's biggest chart success), Jon is the bridge between both factions (as he was a member of both eras).

Not content to rest on past glory, throughout their world tour Jon, Trevor and Rick will be delivering hits and fan-favourites from the YES catalogue brought up to date for today’s audiences.

The worldwide ARW tour is produced by legendary concert promoter Larry Magid, who has over 16,000 concerts to his name including the 1985 American portion of Live Aid and 2005’s Live 8.

Reviews of the first few shows indicate that the ARW tour will be another unforgettable experience. As website CL Tampa put it: “For those who love the music of YES and the musical gifts these three integral members bring to the table, this brand new tour is definitely not one to be missed.”

Currently touring the UK as main support to Catfish And The Bottlemen, Toronto five-piece July Talk have revealed the video for their new single ‘Picturing Love’, which premiered with The Independent.

The band are known for their provocative videos and ‘Picturing Love’ is no exception. Continuing with their theme of black and white imagery, the striking video explores the use of online pornography within a relationship. Co-vocalist Leah Fay explains the concept behind the track,

“We've talked a lot about the mainstream media's depiction of love, romance and sex over the years. Particularly about how hetero-Hollywood porn affects the way young people discover sex and the unrealistic and male-pleasure-centric ideas it forms and perpetuates. The more that people buy into the examples of sex/romance they see, and the less they tune into the actual wants and needs of their bodies/hearts, the more fucked up sexual relationships can become. So lyrically it's exploring that. Sexuality is complicated and curious and so much more than what mainstream media feeds us and suggests it is.”

The new single is taken from their critically acclaimed second album Touch which has just been released in the UK via Caroline Records / Universal.  Also featured on the album is the previous single ‘Beck + Call’ featuring Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq and lead track ‘Push + Pull’, which showcases the perfectly contrasting voices of co-vocalists Pete Dreimanis and Leah Fay and spent a month at number 1 on the Canadian Alternative Chart.

Following the roaring success of four back-to-back sold-out dates at The Gramercy Theatre in New York over the weekend, The Magpie Salute have announced their debut UK performance at London’s Under The Bridge on April 12th. To coincide with the announcement, Planet Rock have today premiered a brand-new clip of the band performing ‘War Drums’.

Presale tickets to the show will be available exclusively through Planet RockThe Magpie Salute, and Under The Bridge this Wednesday 25th at 10am. Tickets will then go on general sale this Friday 27th at 10am and will be available through Ticketmaster

Formed by Rich Robinson, the guitarist and co-founding member of The Black Crowes, The Magpie Salute is an exciting new band bringing together two other key members of Crowes fame, guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien, alongside members of Rich Robinson's own band; drummer Joe Magistro, keyboardist Matt Slocum and guitarist Nico Bereciartua. The Magpie Salute also boasts a fine cast of vocalists, including lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White and background singers, Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen.

“The name The Magpie Salute comes from a superstition based in the UK,” explains Rich about the band’s moniker. “There are many variations, but the version I’m drawn to is the belief that if you see a Magpie, you would do well to salute it to ward off negativity, or to have a good day. The way you salute the Magpie, based on some traditions is to say ‘Good Mornin’ Captain.’ The reason we salute is to show we’re unarmed, or what I like to say is ‘we come in peace’. The Magpie falls within the Crowe umbrella of species, figuratively and literally. Magpies can be black and white which represents the light and the dark. I figured all of these things touch on many aspects of my life and this experience.”

The band will be performing songs from The Black Crowes catalogue as well as solo material from Rich and Marc plus “whatever else may materialise,” says Robinson. At the Gramercy shows, the band’s set lists varied from night to night keeping the music fresh for the musicians and the audience. Ford comments “I don’t think I would do very well in a situation where there’s no danger. It has to stay interesting to us. If we weren’t in to it, how could the listener be?”

They also recently revealed a performance of the song ‘Coming Home’, which begins with a tribute to late keyboardist Eddie Harsch (who passed away on Nov. 4), another founding member who was set to perform with the band in New York at the weekend.

WATCH ‘COMING HOME’ HERE

The video was filmed in August last year at Applehead Studios, Woodstock where The Magpie Salute’s seeds were planted, and features Harsch talking, rehearsing, and performing with the band. “This recording came from the last time I got to play with Eddie Harsch,” says Robinson. “He was my friend and musical teacher. His mastery and subtlety will forever be an inspiration.”

The Magpie Salute also marks the reunion of the Rich Robinson and Marc Ford guitar team. Ford left The Black Crowes after their fourth album and 1997 Further Festival tour

“The Crowes have had their share of guitar players,” says Rich. “Each one has been really cool to play with and each one has brought their own unique playing to the band. That being said, I personally feel that Marc and I have a very deep musical connection. The way he and I played together on those records really showcases that musical bond. As I get older I realise what a gift it is to play with people with whom you share that language of music.”  Reflecting about their deep musical connection,

Marc says: “It’s one of those things that was there before we met. Musically we were already family.”

Natives have today released their new single ‘Warpaint’ through LAB Records / The Santi Collective.

‘Warpaint’ is an uplifting call to action and a determined anthem of positivity from the New Forest quartet. Enlisting synth-infused tribal percussion and euphoric chants, the new single finds Natives at their most danceable yet as they burst with pop melodies, a sampled children’s choir and world-music influences.

Regarding the new single, Natives guitarist / synth player Jack Fairbrother says, “The writing process for 'Warpaint' was different to anything we’d done before. The song was written around a drum performance, with all of us stood facing each other, playing separate rhythms, which together combined to create the groove, which is the hook of the song. I suppose this is our take on tribal drumming - something we’re fascinated by. The track showcases a side of our album which we haven’t shown previously so we’re really excited to get this one into the wild!”

LISTEN TO ‘WARPAINT’ HERE

The new song is the latest in a recent string of highly acclaimed singles, including ‘Passion’, ‘Stop The Rain’ and ‘Chasing Lions’, which give a taste of Natives’ forthcoming second album due out later this year. The ambitious record explores the fictional story of a curious character who embarks on a journey into an unknown world. The album will be accompanied by a book, which delves even further into the narrative.

The release of ‘Warpaint’ precedes Natives 24-date UK and Ireland tour with pop superstars Busted, which kicks of tomorrow (Jan 28th) at the UEA, Norwich and finishes at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on March 1st. Full tour dates can be found below:

STONE FREE FESTIVAL, Kilimanjaro Live and The O2 are proud to reveal more details of this year’s extravaganza, with doors opening at midday on Saturday 17th June.

Playing a full headline set and closing the afternoon festivities at Indigo at The O2 will be the iconic New York hard rockers Blue Öyster Cult, who throughout their four-decade career have garnered huge critical acclaim, in particular for the hit single ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ & other fan favorites including ‘Godzilla’ & ‘Burning For You’. They will be returning to London after a triumphant sold-out show at London’s Forum in summer 2016.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to London for a headline set as part of Stone Free at the O2 Indigo on June 17th as we celebrate 45 years of being ‘ON TOUR FOREVER’” say Blue Öyster Cult.

The O2 Arena
In the main arena joining headliners Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow will be legendary British glam rock giants Sweet, who during the ‘70s had thirteen Top 20 hits including ‘Blockbuster’, ‘Hell Raiser’, ‘Fox On the Run’ and the evergreen feel-good anthem ‘The Ballroom Blitz’.

The band say, “It has been 40 years since Sweet played shows together with Rainbow in the USA. We therefore look forward to reconnecting where we left off. Both bands have gone through changes but with guitarists Ritchie Blackmore and Andy Scott still performing on stage the legacy remains intact. Most importantly the music especially the hits are still very much part of rock history today.”

Indigo at The O2
Indigo at The O2 will be hosting a full afternoon of entertainment with Northern Ireland’s The Answer, who have hit new heights with their most recent album Solas, and Scottish rockers Gun joining the aforementioned Blue Öyster Cult.

When the arena finishes on Saturday night, the excitement doesn’t stop there. There will be an After Party with bad-ass bluegrass maestros Steve’n’Seagulls from Finland. Skillfully re-working some of metal’s finest moments into a new breed of country hoe-down guaranteed to shake you all night long!

Speak Easy Lounge
One of the must-visit destinations at last year’s event, the Speak Easy Lounge, is back to make you shed tears of laughter with a whole host of performances to be announced including comedian and singer-songwriter Phil Nichol, who found fame in the Canadian comedy music trio Corky and the Juice Pigs, comedy club regular Rich Wilson, hailed by Time Out as “Highly entertaining” and a very special live recording of Stuart Goldsmith’s Comedians’ Comedian podcast featuring a big comedy name to be announced (previous guests include Tim Minchin, Bill Burr and Jimmy Carr).

Big Entrance Stage
The Big Entrance Stage will be there to welcome all Stone Free Festival goers with a bang as they arrive into the venue and will have performances throughout the afternoon providing a non-stop soundtrack to the variety of entertainment on offer.

Headlining will be the menacing Evil Blizzard who with four basses and a singing drummer will bring their dystopian madness to proceedings. Joining them will be the rock and soul infused Buck & Evans, Australian hell-raising rockers Massive, bullish Brit rockers Massive Wagons and the heavy metal stalwarts Death Valley Knights.

The Beer Garden
With no chance of rain stopping play, there will still be the chance to bask outside in London’s summer sun. Outside the entrance to the O2 will be The Beer Garden with street food stalls and more live music to entertain fans as they eat, drink and get merry. Full Line-up to be announced.

Classic Rock Vinyl Fair
Free to the general public, VIP Record Fairs will be returning to Stone Free on Saturday 17th June. VIP Record Fairs produce more Vinyl Record Fairs than any other company in the world and at the Stone Free Festival they will present specially selected vinyl dealers from around the UK. You can browse through and buy vinyl from Prog Rock, Punk Rock and Hard Rock to Glam Rock, Classic Rock and 60s rock! REMEMBER - RECORDS ARE FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS!

Standing strong against social prejudice, York four-piece King No-One have released the video for their defiant new single ‘Antichrist’. With a strong band ethos that ‘no-one is king’ and we are all equal regardless of gender, race and sexual orientation, frontman Zach Lount explains the inspiration behind the video, “There’s always been a battle between tyranny and liberty, and this video depicts that. No two people are the same, and we should celebrate our quirks and differences, not isolate them. To at least one person, we're all an Antichrist”.

With knowing references to the totalitarian imagery utilise by the likes of Kraftwerk and early period Simple Minds, the video addresses the issues of dictatorship and abuse of power which have been used throughout history to scapegoat those who are different. With its bold animations and seamless choreography, the video is both eye-catching and powerful and further evidence of the band’s quirky and extravagant style.

‘Antichrist’ is the follow-up to their previous pop-infused indie anthem ‘Alcatraz’ and sees King No-One deliver a contemporary alternative-indie edge with hints of late 90’s hip-hop stylings. The track has had a huge response online and has charted in Spotify’s UK Top 50 viral chart and been added to ‘The Indie List’ playlist.

Having secured slots last year at the likes of Reading and Leeds, the Great Escape, Live At Leeds, Dot-to-Dot and Club NME at KOKO in Camden and completed two UK headline tours in 2016, playing to sold-out crowds across the country, King No-One have rapidly become one of the biggest ticket-selling new bands in the UK.

Their flamboyant style has also won the hearts of radio stations and seen them supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and Radio X. They have also performed a stunning set to adoring fans at the BBC Introducing Showcase on March 2nd at The Lexington, London.

Now, due to continued fan demand, they will be heading back out on the road this month for their biggest run of UK shows to date.

Inspiring fans to stay unique and cherish individuality, King No-One are rapidly on the rise as one of the most exciting emerging bands of 2017.

Iconic US-rockers Cheap Trick have announced a special three date UK tour, with the band visiting London, Manchester and Bristol in June 2017.

The Illinois quartet, who originally formed in 1973, will delight fans with their huge back catalogue of rock classics, including hits ‘Surrender’, ‘I Want You To Want Me’, ‘Dream Police’ and ‘The Flame’. The tour comes on the back of their most recent 2016 album, Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello, their 17th studio release and first for 7 years, which includes the single 'When I Wake Up Tomorrow'.

Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello shows exactly why the band are so loved and revered. Classic Rock made it an album of the month with a resounding 9/10 lead review, Uncut declared in their 8/10 review that the “American powerpop greats [are] on great form… consistently thrilling”, whilst Mojo, not to be outdone, claimed it to be, “a guns-blazing reinforcement of classic tropes [by] masters of pop finesse”

Now an indisputable institution, Cheap Trick have amassed a huge worldwide following over four decades, achieved a string of awards and honours, featured on over 20 film soundtracks and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in April 2016.

The constant core of the band remains one of a kind – four guys, three chords and tunes that will last in perpetuity. Each member contributes different elements to their songcraft – a riff, a chorus, a hook – which are then jammed into three-and-a-half perfect minutes of powerhouse pop rock. The new record is loud and gives a fresh feel to the setlist, whilst still harnessing the original ‘70s sound that has become their trademark.

Commenting on the tour the band said, “We love touring the world and playing music to our loyal fan base – this is what we do and we’ll probably never quit! We’re as excited and energised today as we’ve ever been and we can’t wait to hit the UK this summer!”

Cheap Trick are Robin Zander (vocals), Rick Nielsen (guitar), Tom Petersson (bass) and Daxx Nielsen (drums).

Oxford-based singer-songwriter Lewis Watson has released his new single ‘Deep The Water’ taken from his upcoming second album midnight, out March 24th through Cooking Vinyl. Accompanying the single is a live video featuring Lewis’ backing band, which will give fans a taste of what to expect from this month’s UK headline tour. You can watch the video HERE.

The new single sees the Lewis once again showcase his versatile vocal range and finely tuned skills in constructing mature, cultured pop songs.

The track has already received support from BBC Radio 1, with spins from both Adele Roberts and Cel Spellman, as well as significant early radio plays from Triple A in the US, where Lewis has just completed a successful stint at SXSW and announced a full tour in May.

On Lewis’ new album midnight, he has developed his much-loved acoustic-pop sound into something altogether more ambitious. Drawing upon inspiration from a disparate range of influences including Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay and Bon Iver, the album expands Lewis Watson’s musical world far beyond his debut.

Already praised by the likes of Q and the Sunday Times, it’s a dramatic and wide-ranging album that expands Lewis’ musical palette into new horizons.

Lewis will embark on a UK headline tour from March in support of the album. The run of dates will also include festival appearances at Live At Leeds and 2Q Festival. Full tour dates are as follows:

Following the announcement of their eagerly anticipated 10th studio album, American rock band Gov’t Mule have confirmed their return to the UK in October this year. The band will be heading to Ireland to play a show in Dublin before coming to the UK for four dates in Edinburgh, Manchester, Cardiff and London.

The band first return to the road at Summerstage in New York's Central Park and have dates booked through the summer in North America and Europe, with hopes of also heading to Japan, Australia and other territories to promote the upcoming album Revolution Come… Revolution Go.

After celebrating 20 years and then taking a few years to work on other projects, the album is "the new chapter opening up for the band", according to founder Warren Haynes. It’s due for release June 9th via Spinefarm Records. You can pre-order the album here.

The 12-song set, Gov't Mule's 10th studio outing, was recorded primarily with long-time collaborator Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar) in Austin, Texas, but the musicians also worked on a pair of tracks with Don Was, with whom Haynes recently toured as part of the recent The Last Waltz 40th anniversary tour.

The record features the song ‘Dreams & Songs’, which Haynes deems autobiographical, reflecting on a career that started professionally with David Allan Coe’s band in 1980 and has gone through the Dickey Betts Band, the Allman Brothers Band, the Dead, Phil Lesh & Friends and more.

"It's about looking back at your life and family and changes," Haynes explains, "and the general message is you never go back home -- not in the literal sense of the word, but things have a way of growing in their own directions, and you wake up one day and look at everything you've been through and think, 'Wow, how did I get here?' It's a journey and you look back on it. I'm very grateful for the opportunities that I've had, but it's been a wild ride and in some ways has gone so much quicker than I would ever expect. Thankfully, I'm still going strong and my career's as good as it's ever been. I'm thankful for that."

Renowned gypsy punk band GOGOL BORDELLO announce their new album, the seventh in their wide-ranging oeuvre which comes out August 25th , 2017 via Cooking Vinyl.

“Seekers and Finders is just a very magical and playful record for us”, says frontman Eugene Hütz. “It just feels quite complete in capturing the Gogol familia transcontinental lifestyle, every side of it… the Good, The Bad, and the Snugly.”

Written over an extended time on three different continents, Seekers and Finders finds the nine-piece multi-cultural band in top form - an aural party of violins, accordions, trumpet, marimba amongst the standard rock basics of guitars, drum and bass. “I was still bouncing between Latin America and Eastern Europe when songs were emerging, but finally, as soon as I moved back to New York, it all came into focus… as it always did for me here”, he explains.

The first released track and lyric video, ‘Saboteur Blues’ is a frenzied punk rocker that flips a middle finger in the face of French philosopher René Descartes. “This song is about the full commitment to the moment and putting the end to this self-sabotage... and going on a rampage with it”, Eugene says. “Our lives are royally sabotaged by our thinking being stuck in our past or future.  Girls in French mock-flirt the famous crap fuck shot philosophy ‘I think therefore I am’ of Descartes, while the band is clearly offering the alternative ‘I feel, perceive and experience, therefore I motherfucking rock'”.

Kicking off with ‘Did It All’, an incendiary exchange of violin and accordion licks, bolstered by Eugene’s full-throated ensemble vocals, Seekers and Finders injects an adrenaline-rush into the current music bloodstream. The lilting and breezy title track features fellow Eastern European and close personal friend Regina Spektor who duets with Eugene, adding a comfortable cushion to his wide-eyed and immediate vocals. “It's the duet of the wandering Jew and the roaming gypsy by the campfire, which we represent most perfectly", he adds.  The album's excitement doesn’t relent until you’re left breathless with the final fade of ‘Still That Way’.

Not content to keep the music in its recorded form, Gogol Bordello have announced tour dates to bring the excitement and dynamics to the stage, including five UK shows in July starting with British Summer Time in Hyde Park, supporting Green Day (tour dates below).

Formed in 1999, Gogol Bordello took their style of Eastern European-influenced gypsy punk and doused it deep into the underground rock of New York City. Having worked with numerous grandmasters of production including Rick Rubin, Steve Albini, Andrew Scheps, and Victor Van Vugt, Seekers and Finders brings the band full circle with Eugene taking over the producer’s chair.  “As the new songs were emerging, I had a feeling that Seekers and Finders was going to be such an intimate record that, for this time, I felt the need to get behind the wheel myself and try marry the two: everything we learned from grandmasters with the Original Gogol Intention.”

With this album in hand, it seems like not only did he marry the two, he’s throwing one hell of a honeymoon.

Gogol Bordello is Eugene Hütz (Vocals/Guitar), Sergey Ryabtsev (Violin), Thomas Gobena (Bass), Pedro Erazo-Segovia (Vocals/Percussion), Pasha Newmerzhitsky (Accordion), Boris Pelekh (Guitar), Alfredo Ortiz (Drums), Pamela Racine (Vocals/Percussion), and Vanessa Walters (Vocals/Percussion).

Seekers and Finders will be released on August 25th, 2017 via Cooking Vinyl.  Pre-orders available now here.

Nahko’s debut solo album My Name Is Bear, set for release on Friday, October 20th, is a 16-track collection (including interludes sampled from Nahko’s original road trips) that reflects the soul, authenticity and spirit that Nahko’s fans have come to know. It features the single ‘Dragonfly’, and ventures into decidedly more “rocking and personal territory,”  as Nahko puts it.

In fact, much of My Name Is Bear is informed by a time in Nahko’s life spent in search of and reconciling his reunion with his birth mother, who had given him up at the age of 15 after being thrust into unthinkable circumstances.

He did however, at the age of 21, find her, living remarkably just 15 minutes from his home. “I drove to her house and there she was,” said Nahko. “She was crying, I was crying and consequently, as most of these songs were written between the age of 18 and 21, much of the spirit of My Name Is Bear is informed by this time in my life.”

My Name Is Bear predates Nahko’s rise to mythos among diehard fans of Medicine for the People. As he puts it, the album serves as a “prequel,”  that artfully merges rustic acoustic guitars, upbeat energy, tribal flavours, fiery percussion and ponderous lyrics.

Its first single ‘Dragonfly’, which is out today, will be accompanied by a music video that will feature Nahko’s friend Paris Jackson. Fingerpicked acoustic guitar builds into an unshakable melody punctuated by an African-style beat and chirping birds as he carries the chant, “To my former of dragonfly, I resist and I survive.”

“I wrote that at 18,” he recalls. “It’s a special one about following my heart in relation to a first love. I was very enamoured with her. We met in Alaska, and she had a similar story to my birth mother. I followed her to Louisiana by way of a very long road trip. We spent four months in a house in the Deep South hanging out. It came from surviving that first year away from home. It was a special piece for me.”

Finger-snaps set the stage for a delicate and heartwarming narrative about the birth of his brother’s first child on ‘Call Him By His Name.’ Strings underscore the emotional heft of the soulful ballad ‘Susanna,’ which relays the journey from home towards love. Meanwhile, the shimmering piano of ‘Alice’ echoes with lively and lush melodies.

At the end of the day, My Name Is Bear sets the stage for a whole lot more from Nahko.

“I decided to make this album last year as the world was changing,”' he explains. “I know I could go deep on Medicine for the People, but I had to go back in time for myself, clean out the closet a little bit, and give listeners something that feels good, but makes them think. I hope in making them feel good for an hour; it makes them feel better.”

Nahko embarks on a full U.S. and European headlining tour in support of My Name Is Bear. The tour features a number of UK dates including a show at London Islington’s Assembly Hall on Friday December 1st. All tickets are on sale now: nahko.com/tour

Warner Music will release IRON MAIDEN’s ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ on November 17th worldwide [through BMG in the USA]. This live recording comprises 15 songs captured during ‘The Book Of Souls World Tour’, which covered 39 countries across six continents during 2016 and 2017, and was seen by over two million fans. ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ will be released physically in CD, deluxe CD & vinyl audio formats, with the concert film available to stream free online or as a digital download – full details below.

Produced by Tony Newton and Iron Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris, the album is based on this year’s set list and is a faithful record of the epic show, including six songs from ‘The Book Of Souls’, the band's most recent studio album, along with many other classics and fan favourites.

Steve comments, "We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world. This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken.”

Maiden manager Rod Smallwood adds, "'The Book Of Souls World Tour’ was a huge undertaking, not least for Bruce who started the tour singing in public for the very first time since recovering from throat cancer. He also piloted Ed-Force One, upgraded last year from a Boeing 757 to a 747 so we could go further and faster to visit some fantastic cities and fans all round the world. This year continued that excitement bringing us our most successful North American and UK tours ever. It was a very special tour in a great many ways so we felt we wanted to document it for both ourselves and for our fans. Steve has done an incredible job putting together this set from cities around the world and we’ve made sure the deluxe CD will be available in a matching book format to ‘The Book of Souls’ release.

"On top of all that the release will be celebrated by an event that is a Maiden first: a free live streaming premiere of the concert film, as a thank you to our loyal fans around the world. We hope that the global Maiden community will all enjoy coming together to watch this special event online. Many of you will be in it as there is footage from a whole host of the places we played on this momentous tour.”

More details on how to take part in this one-off event will be published on IronMaiden.com shortly.

After a triumphant return to the UK last week with another stint of sold-out shows including London Islington’s Assembly Hall, US sensation Nahko has released the official video for his latest single ‘Be Here Now’. The track is taken from his eclectic new album My Name Is Bear, which was released in October.

Featuring a montage of recent live footage alongside colourful, rich scenes of Nahko performing on a misty mountain top and playing a magnificent Elton John-style grand piano festooned with twinkling lights, the video perfectly captures Nahko’s quirky and positive personality and his band’s carefree and uplifting vibe.

Speaking about the piano, Nahko says, “We put the word out to our community that we were looking for an old upright piano that we could place outside for a base shot on this shoot. What we got was even cooler! Through the grapevine connections from some sisters in the medicine tribe, we found a fellow named Coda. He had this piano he had designed and built from scratch. Each key lights up a different string of LED lights and there are several settings for different displays. Coda pulled up to our location on Grizzly Peak in Berkeley on the side of the lookout road. We unloaded the piano and built it right there! It was pretty amazing, talk about community powered movements.”

He continues about the video, “Some of my favourite music videos catalog a journey into the life and times of an artist. It's a window into their world that you don't always get to see. I find them to be gems. We have a lot of those moments on the road and being able to capture them in a genuine light is the trick.”

‘Be Here Now’ follows the ethereal and beautiful video for ‘Dragonfly’ with his close friend Paris Jackson, and is a quirky, honest and effortlessly endearing offering which encompasses the free-spiritedness that Nahko’s fans have come to know.

With Nahko’s devoted following constantly growing in the UK and all his headline shows selling out yet again, Nahko will return to the UK for solo headline shows in April 2018.

British rock legends Iron Maiden and independent family brewers Robinsons announce the creation of Light Brigade, a unique golden English ale with a 4.1% ABV. It has been developed in support of Help For Heroes, the British charity that provides recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service.

6p of each pint and 5p of each bottle sold will be donated to help the thousands of Servicemen and women who live with complex wounds and injuries – both physical and mental – and are looking to regain their purpose in life.

Help For Heroes met with Robinsons in the summer of 2017 to explore the possibility of launching a beer. Robinsons and Iron Maiden, who jointly launched Trooper Beer almost five years ago and which has now sold over 20 million pints worldwide, were immediately enthusiastic about the idea. Indeed, the origin of Trooper’s name, which comes from the classic Iron Maiden song, ‘The Trooper’, based on the Battle of Balaclava of 1854 in the Crimean War, reflects the band’s well-known interest in history.

As ever with the Trooper range of beers, Robinsons’ Head Brewer, Martyn Weeks, and Iron Maiden lead vocalist and ale aficionado, Bruce Dickinson, teamed up to create the new and original beer, with the final tasting and approval taking place at Help For Heroes’ Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Wiltshire, last Autumn.

Bruce Dickinson said: “We are very proud to have been asked to get involved. I have been an instructor on several of British Airways’ flight simulator ‘Flying Heroes’ days for Help For Heroes Veterans, so I know the charity and the work that they do well. Light Brigade is our interpretation of a golden ale that maintains the elements of strength and character that are the essence of Trooper but at a more sessionable level. In fact, the two beers complement each other very well."

Beth Miles, Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Help For Heroes: “We are thrilled that Bruce Dickinson has developed a new beer for us under the Trooper brand with Robinsons. We are sure that Light Brigade will have a very popular appeal and raise significant funds, enabling Help For Heroes to empower more Veterans to reach their potential and regain their purpose. This is the beginning of a partnership which we hope will see Trooper fans and Robinsons customers join The Force for Good campaign to support the thousands whose lives have been affected by their service.”

Martyn Weeks commented: “Bruce and I were recently invited to visit Help For Heroes in Wiltshire, where we had a tour of the incredible recovery facilities there and met some of the Veterans.  We were both hugely impressed with the work they are doing and launching a new beer in support of this Charity is, we believe, a great way to raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause. Robinsons will also be supporting the Charity through fundraising in our pub estate.”

Light Brigade is designed as a session ale for beer and music fans everywhere. It will also be produced on a long-term basis, differentiating it from the other limited edition Trooper beers: 666, Red ‘N Black, and Hallowed. In keeping with the Trooper brand, Light Brigade's original bottle label features Iron Maiden’s iconic mascot Eddie on horseback in one of the uniforms of the Light Brigade.

Light Brigade is available to pre-order online now at www.robinsonsbrewery.com for delivery from 1st February, and will be stocked in supermarkets nationwide and selected pubs from 19th February onwards.

The Head And The Heart have released their new track, ‘Honeybee’, the second to be released from their forthcoming album Living Mirage, out May 17th via Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records.

Songwriter and vocalist Jon Russell etched out the sauntering ‘Honeybee’ in Joshua Tree during the band’s first writing session, which was then an a-cappella floor stomp about rescuing a decaying relationship, conceived during a writing workshop in Los Angeles.

Jon subsequently traveled to Seattle to flesh out tracks with Matt Gervais and Charity Rose Thielen, who notably finessed the sweetly harmonic bridge to ‘Honeybee’. The entire band later convened in Nashville, reinvigorated by the music’s unscripted direction.

“Honeybee really captures the idea of living the end of your life with some regret - realising you have been living a life complacent with the familiar - maybe even taking the person closest to you for granted and regretting not expressing your love towards them until it’s too late”, commented Charity. “It’s a concept that connects with all of us and this song, sonically, for the band is intriguingly minimalist. It feels fresh.”

‘Honeybee’ follows ‘Missed Connection’, the first single to be taken from the upcoming album, and comes ahead of an extensive 38-date US tour starting in June following the release of their upcoming fourth album next month.

IRON MAIDEN have attracted rave reviews on their mobile game-inspired, three-month Legacy Of The Beast Tour across North, South and Central America with Rolling Stone calling it the “pinnacle of Heavy-Metal escapism” and a “pure multi-media spectacle”. The tour included a headline performance at Rock In Rio - which NME described as “brilliant” - with all 100,000 tickets sold in less than two hours.

The Legacy Of The Beast tour returns to the UK in June 2020 with headline performances at Download Festival (Donington) and Belsonic (Belfast), which will be the band’s only UK shows of next year. See www.ironmaiden.com for full tour details.

Marcus King has shared the fiery rock ‘n’ roll track, ‘Say You Will’, taken from his Dan Auerbach produced, genre-bending debut solo record, El Dorado – due out Jan 17th, 2020 via Snakefarm Records in the UK.

King comments, “The classic rock ‘n’ roll feel of this song is meant to inspire an emotion to make you want to move. You’ve got Bubba’s kick-drum coming through, heavily pronounced in a bulldozing fashion, and the sleepless fuzz guitar tones are designed to hit a nerve. Combined with the lyrics, this is a song that will take you on a ride through a tapestry of my favourite influences – Mountain, Joe Walsh and Eric Clapton. When listening, you should be rowdy, whether at work or at a cook-out!

El Dorado is a contemporary exploration of southern R&B, country-soul, classic rock and blues, where subtle acoustics and pedal steel shine bright alongside raucous electric guitars and blistering solos. Marking a new sonic direction and with King’s remarkable voice taking centre-stage, El Dorado is set to further establish him as one of the most soulful voices of his generation.

Meanwhile, lead-off track ‘The Well’ already stands as one of his most successful releases to date, receiving widespread US radio support (#1 on the AAA radio chart in the US week of release), plus critical acclaim from key US tastemakers. The track’s cinematic video is out now.

At just 23 years old, King has established himself as an enthralling world class live musical talent. He recently embarked on a 70-plus date world tour with The Marcus King Band – one of the hardest working outfits on the scene today, performing over 140 shows in the last calendar year alone. King has also found the time to appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and perform with Chris Stapleton on his US arena tour, as well as curating his own hometown festival – The Marcus King Band Family Reunion.

El Dorado was recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio; the songs were written by King and Auerbach along with famed writers, Paul Overstreet, Ronnie Bowman and Pat McLaughlin, and performed by legendary studio musicians who have worked with such iconic artists as Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and Bobby Womack. King and Auerbach co-wrote the 12 featured songs for El Dorado in only three days…

On working with King, Auerbach states, “Marcus is known by so many as a phenom guitar player, and rightfully so. He’s regularly the best player in the room, hands down. However, I was equally blown away by the way he can sing – so effortless, so soulful, straight from the heart.”

Playing professionally since he was 11 years old and discovered in his teens after a video of him performing at Norman’s Rare Guitars went viral, King is a fourth-generation musician who followed in his family’s footsteps. His grandfather was a country guitarist, and his father continues to perform live. King recently made his debut at The Grand Ole Opry, playing his grandfather’s guitar – the moment was captured in a video documentary, which can be watched here.

King has overcome challenges with mental health and loss to become a true guitar star, and with El Dorado is poised for a major breakthrough as one of the most talented young artists in music today.

El Dorado will be released via Snakefarm Records in the UK. It’s available to pre-order now; please visit: https://mk.lnk.to/eldorado

Marcus King has shared a new song 'One Day She’s Here,' a fresh sounding slice of laid-back vintage soul. The new track, written by Marcus, Dan Auerbach and Pat McLaughlin, showcases Marcus’ restrained falsetto with sultry strings and a deep pocket groove provided by among others, drummer Gene Chrisman, keyboardist Bobby Wood and bassist Dave Roe, legendary musicians who have graced classic recordings by the likes of Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley.

'One Day She's Here' was premiered by FLOOD Magazine who stated, "the song packages Marcus' sensual falsetto with strings for a languorous soul vibe about a love who just won't stay."

Discussing the song with FLOOD Magazine, Marcus explained, “Dan and I wrote ‘One Day She’s Here’ with Pat McLaughlin. This was a writing session I was a little bit late to and when I got there they had this bouncy chord progression. We kind of picked it up from there and started moving forward. A reoccurring theme throughout the record is old Cadillacs. And this idea of something you love fading away into the distance appealed to me as writer. Something that I think everybody can relate to is seeing something fade away like that.”

'One Day She's Here' is featured on his genre-bending debut solo record, El Dorado, produced by Dan Auerbach at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, and due Jan 17, 2020 on Snakefarm Records (UK). El Dorado is a contemporary exploration of southern R&B, country-soul, classic rock and blues, where subtle acoustics and pedal steel shine bright alongside raucous electric guitars and blistering solos. Marking a new sonic direction and with King’s remarkable voice taking centre stage, El Dorado is set to further establish King as one of the most soulful voices of his generation.

Marcus King has become a vocal and guitar phenomenon at 23 years old, overcoming challenges with mental health and loss to release his debut solo album, poised for a major breakthrough and his most critically acclaimed yet. The album’s highly anticipated first single, 'The Well' premiered recently via Rolling Stone alongside widespread support from tastemakers American Songwriter, Vulture, Entertainment Weekly and Paste and is already receiving dedicated support at Triple A radio, including KCRW which made it their top tune of the day. The track’s cinematic video also premiered via Relix with hundreds of thousands of views in weeks.

Marcus is currently on a 75+ date world tour in the US, Australia, Japan, Europe, and more, with The Marcus King Band. Multiple dates are already sold out from Washington to Philadelphia. He has also found the time to develop his own signature guitar with Gibson, create a signature amp with Orange Amps, appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, perform with Chris Stapleton on his US arena tour as well as curate his own namesake festival - The Marcus King Band Family Reunion.

Playing professionally since he was eleven years old and discovered in his teens after a video of him performing at Norman’s Rare Guitars went viral, Marcus King is a fourth-generation musician who followed in his family’s footsteps. His grandfather was a country guitarist, and his father continues to perform live. King recently made his debut at The Grand Ole Opry, playing his grandfather’s guitar. The moment was recently captured in a video documentary, which can be watched here.

El Dorado will be released January 17, 2020 on Fantasy Records in association with Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound. Available to pre-order now. Please visit: https://mk.lnk.to/eldorado

Today, Greta Van Fleet release their first new song in more than a year, ‘My Way, Soon’, via Lava/Republic Records. The song is a liberating and jubilant track that celebrates and reflects the band’s personal transformation over the past three years. Also released is the track’s companion music video, which was shot, edited, and directed by the band.

"This song was inspired by what three years of touring did by opening so many doorways,” describes vocalist Josh Kiszka. “This is my truth, how I feel about all of our travels, but I know it echoes the experiences and changes of perspectives for Jake, Sam, and Danny as well.” Watch the video here.

When Greta Van Fleet released ‘Highway Tune’ in March of 2017, a song that they wrote in their parent’s garage before any of them had turned 18, they had no idea the change it would bring to their lives. The song would go on to become an international hit and top Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Singles chart.

‘Highway Tune’ would be followed by three more consecutive #1 US singles, a debut album that entered Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Album Sales charts at #1, a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, appearances on The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live, a Gold-certified debut album, an overflow crowd at their Coachella debut, a personal phone call from Elton John inviting them to perform at his Academy Awards Viewing Party, and most consequentially, 246 sold-out tour dates in 13 countries over five continents.

In the UK they were critically acclaimed by a whole host of publications including Kerrang who stated that they are “A truly skilled band, musically wise beyond their years”, NME who declared that “In the last decade, rock music has been pushed to the edges of the cultural zeitgeist. But that’s where Greta Van Fleet come in,” and Classic Rock who said their debut album, “Is one of the most exciting records released by a new band in recent years”.

The four Greta Van Fleet band members - Josh and his twin brother Jake Kiszka (guitars), younger brother Sam (bass, keyboards), and long-time family friend Danny Wagner (drums) - were still under the legal drinking age, and two of them hadn’t yet graduated from high school. However, within a few months, they left their safe and familiar family homes in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and entered a whole new – and entirely unanticipated – whirlwind of a world. A world where they would learn and grow beyond their wildest imagination.

As Danny explains, “The definition of ’normal’ has very much broadened over the past couple of years, and it has affected us as musicians, especially in the writing and recording of this new album. We realized that while growing up, we had been shielded by a lot of things, we were unaware of a lot of things. And then we were thrown out into this huge world, and it was a bit of a culture shock at first.”

“We’ve seen how people live in different parts of the world,” added Sam, “and we’ve developed intrinsic respect for different cultures and people. We’ve gone from driving down a highway to a show and seeing endless miles of shantytowns in Sao Paulo, to playing some of the richest places on earth.”

Added Jake, “The more we’ve seen - different cultures, people, and traditions - we’ve also seen a similarity between ourselves and these different cultures. It surprises me how similar we all are.”

Sat, 12/05/2020 - 12:58 pm

After three years, one million concert tickets sold across five continents, four consecutive #1 singles, a GRAMMY Award, and performances on ‘The Tonight Show’ and ‘Saturday Night Live’, GRETA VAN FLEET are hurtling into the future with their second album, The Battle at Garden's Gate due April 16, 2021, via Lava/Republic Records and EMI Records in the UK.

A bold evolution from the band's 2018 full-length debut Anthem of the Peaceful Army, The Battle At Garden's Gate came together primarily on the road or while in the studio after the runaway success of 2017's ‘Highway Tune’ led to the band packing up, leaving home, and eagerly soaking up new experiences on an extended road trip around the world.

Over the past three years, Greta Van Fleet – vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner – played to hundreds of thousands of people across North America, Europe, Japan, Australia, South America, New Zealand and the UK. Whilst driving to gigs, the first-time world travelers passed many unfamiliar sights, from the favelas in Sao Paulo to the Gold Coast of Australia and everywhere in between, meeting and enjoying conversations with fans and other musicians, which opened up new worlds to them.

To cap off the change-filled era, the quartet moved from Michigan to Nashville, immersing themselves in Music City's rich history. The melding of all these experiences opened their eyes to amazing new worlds of culture, history, philosophy and spirituality, which ushered in an entirely new way of looking at life and the approach to their music.

Accordingly, Greta Van Fleet poured everything that they experienced into these new songs and the music reflects their spiritual and intellectual growth, increased awareness of the inequalities plaguing the modern world, and deep empathy for what other people are going through.

"We realized that whilst growing up, we had been shielded by many things and we were unaware of a lot of things," says drummer Danny Wagner. "And then we were thrown out into this huge world, and it was a bit of a culture shock at first. But as we started to travel a lot, meet new and different people and experience different cultures, our definition of 'normal' changed."

"I suppose that everything has changed except what got us here in the first place," adds bassist Sam Kiszka. "Everything – our perception of the world, perception of life itself, what it means to be an artist, what it means to be part of a beautiful, gorgeous society. We've gained a larger understanding of why we're all here."

Greta Van Fleet

In general, the album's arrangements are spacious and leisurely, giving the music pleasing dynamics, as the band touches on all manners of rock'n'roll. The Battle at Garden's Gate is cinematic, capturing the breathtaking energy of an exciting fight scene, or the smoldering passion of a brooding, heroic protagonist saving the day. The new music also illustrates that the members of Greta Van Fleet are paving the way for a new generation of musicians – ones that use rock'n'roll's foundational elements to build an entirely new sonic blueprint.

Sonically, The Battle at Garden's Gate also feels bracingly modern, an embodiment of genre-blended musical freedom. Recorded in Los Angeles with Greg Kurstin (Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney), the album is ambitious and expansive, marked by epic journeys such as the second single, ‘Age of Machine’, released today (check it out HERE), and the US Top 5 rock hit ‘My Way, Soon’, which boasts a towering chorus hook and rip-it-up-and-start-again lyrics. ‘My Way, Soon’ was added to the Planet Rock A-List and Kerrang Radio B-List in the UK, and has also had support from BBC Radio 2.

Josh explains, "It's very dynamic, lyrically speaking.  And that's the human experience. It's much more than pain or fear; it's also beauty. People need people, and love is important."

Lyrically, The Battle at Garden's Gate muses about the influence of technology on modern life; the role conflict plays in the global sphere; the deceptive fulfillment of tangible riches; and philosophical questions about life, love and power.

"There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had, so a lot of contemplation occurred," Josh says, while Jake adds, "It's reflecting a lot of the world that we've seen, and I think that it's reflecting a lot of personal truth. What Josh does very well with the lyrics is telling ancient tales with a contemporary application."

For Josh, working with Kurstin provided the confidence he needed to push his songwriting into these vivid dimensions. "I'm always a little bit hesitant about my abilities as an artist, I think a lot of artists feel that way," he says.  "But Greg hovering over me while I'm on the piano, taking an interest in what I was doing – that was really important for me."

That added confidence is obvious.  Josh sounds commanding on each song, stretching his already-acrobatic voice to newer heights, while the instrumentalists fearlessly push themselves into new territory.  Easy going organ and acoustic folk-rock riffs drive one song, while another ends in a torrent of guitar noise that rivals Neil Young's onstage guitar freakouts with Crazy Horse. "For all of us, the performances - and the aspects of them that are captured – preserve where we're at musically in time right now," Jake says.

The future is unwritten, and the sky's the limit for these curious travelers and truth-seekers. Josh says. "Certainly after this, we've grown in so many ways. This album has taught us a lot, about life in general, about ourselves, about all of us, about the world we live in."

The one and only Cheap Trick have announced today’s premiere of their pummeling new single. ‘Light Up The Fire’ is available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The song heralds Cheap Trick’s eagerly anticipated 20th studio album, IN ANOTHER WORLD, arriving via BMG on Friday, April 9th digitally as well as on standard black vinyl and CD. Limited edition blue and white splattered vinyl will be available at independent record stores nationwide. In addition, a limited edition picture disc will be available exclusively via Target. Pre-orders are available now, with all pre-orders joined by an instant grat download of ‘Light Up The Fire.’

Produced by longtime associate Julian Raymond, IN ANOTHER WORLD sees Cheap Trick doing what they do better than anyone -- crafting indelible rock ‘n’ roll with oversized hooks, mischievous lyrics, and seemingly inexorable energy. Trademark anthems like ‘Light Up The Fire’ and ‘Boys & Girls & Rock N Roll’ are countered by more introspective – but no less exuberant – considerations of times past, present, and unknowable future on such strikingly potent new tracks as ‘Another World’ and ‘I’ll See You Again.’

IN ANOTHER WORLD – which marks Cheap Trick’s first new LP since 2017’s double-header of WE’RE ALL ALRIGHT! and CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS – further showcases Cheap Trick at their most eclectic, touching on a myriad of distinct sounds and song approaches, from the swampy Chicago blues number, ‘Final Days’ (featuring fiery harmonica from GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer and Wet Willie frontman Jimmy Hall) to a timely rendition of John Lennon’s still-relevant ‘Gimme Some Truth,’ originally released for Record Store Day Black Friday 2019 and featuring the instantly recognisable guitar sound of erstwhile Sex Pistol Steve Jones. As irresistible and immediate as anything in their already awesome catalogue, IN ANOTHER WORLD is Cheap Trick at their irrepressible best, infinitely entertaining and utterly unstoppable.

Founded in 1974, Cheap Trick are an indisputable American institution, beloved around the globe for their instantly identifiable, hugely influential, brand of pop rock ‘n’ roll. The band - Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass guitar) - are true pioneers with an unparalleled streak of certifiably classic tunes, from ‘He’s A Whore,’ ‘California Man’ and ‘Dream Police’ to ‘Surrender,’ ‘I Want You To Want Me,’ and the worldwide #1 hit single, ‘The Flame.’

2016 saw Cheap Trick inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a long overdue acknowledgement of a nearly five decade career that has earned them more than 40 international gold and platinum certifications, myriad awards and industry honours, featured appearances on over 20 movie soundtracks, and total record sales well in excess of 20 million.

Cheap Trick - Zander, Nielsen, Petersson along with drummer Daxx Nielsen - are of course one of rock’s hardest working live acts, lighting it up at arenas, concert halls, and amphitheatres worldwide more than 150 nights each year. Alas, recent events have forced the band off the road for perhaps the longest hiatus of their storied history. Cheap Trick plan to return to the endless highway later as soon as they can, including North American and U.K. tour dates – for updates and pre-sale information, please visit www.cheaptrick.com/tour-dates.html

“This band is held together by music,” says Robin Zander. “It’s the super glue that keeps us writing and putting records out. The reason we started the band in the first place was to tour and write songs and put records out. If all that went away, there would be no point then, would there?”

Today, Grammy Award-winning four-piece Greta Van Fleet are releasing their latest track ‘Broken Bells’, an anthem intended to inspire; listen/share HERE.

“’Broken Bells’ is what the fetter of society does to impact a pure and innocent soul. Our intention is to remove the obligation of generational synthetic expectations; break down these walls and not build new ones,” explains the band’s Sam Kiszka.

The track is from the group’s highly anticipated new album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, due April 16 via Lava/Republic. It follows previously released album tracks ‘My Way, Soon’ (the band’s fifth #1 single at Active Rock,) ‘Heat Above’ and ‘Age of Machine’. Pre-order the album HERE, and more info on the album website HERE.

The band’s second record, The Battle at Garden’s Gate reflects heavily on the individual members’ personal and spiritual growth during their rapid rise, going from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents and selling over one million tickets in just three years.

The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin (Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Adele). “There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had,” explains vocalist Josh Kiszka. “It’s reflecting a lot of the world that we’ve seen, and I think that it’s reflecting a lot of personal truth,” says guitarist Jake Kiszka.

“Certainly after this, we’ve grown in so many ways,” Josh explains. “This album has taught us a lot, about life in general, about ourselves, about all of us, about the world we live in.”

Forming in Frankenmuth, Michigan back in 2012, Greta Van Fleet consists of three brothers, vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka, as well as drummer Danny Wagner.

Together they have performed across multiple continents, sold over two million albums worldwide, performed on ‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘The Tonight Show’, and ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, topped the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts with their debut single ‘Highway Tune’ in 2017, won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2019 for From the Fires, and reached #1 on the Billboard charts with their debut full length Anthem of the Peaceful Army in 2018.

In conjunction with the track release, an exclusive limited-edition tie dye vinyl is launching globally and is available in the band’s merch store; more info HERE

Morgan Wade’s debut album Reckless “delivers what its name promises: an unvarnished voice straddling country and rock 'n' roll with stories of lionhearted truth” (Tennessean). Wade, now 26, kept her songs and her voice hidden in her younger years, later taking to the stage naturally at age 19, and then choosing sobriety soon after in her early twenties. The album, she notes, is an honest portrayal of her truth, grit and growth.

The Floyd, Virginia native has been adamant about sharing her own struggles with her mental health, as well. She tells American Songwriter, “If you’re struggling, and you put it out there, people actually say, ‘I really connected with (whatever the content).’ In making other people feel less alone, somehow I’m less alone. So I give away my feelings, then I get a sense I’m not the only one.”

Working alongside Paul Ebersold and Sadler Vaden, long-time guitarist for Jason Isbell as well as an acclaimed solo artist in his own right, the trio shaped songs Wade has written over the years and developed new tracks to create a debut that Slant observes as “striking in the way it upends expectations,” remarking that it “revolves around issues like addiction, mental health, and isolation—plights that are central to exurban life but mostly ignored by the music that claims to represent that culture,” while American Songwriter celebrates her vocal tone that’s “honey melted into moonshine” and her “classic songwriter moxie”.

Wade notes influences that span bluegrass, country and pop, with her sensibilities of the latter on full display in ‘Last Cigarette’, with No Depression praising the track as “a poppy breakup song about vice that belongs on the beach as much as it does on a barstool,” and “complete with a catchy vocal sample, this could easily be a song of the summer, though Wade’s raspy vocals and self-awareness keep the song from sliding into cotton candy territory.”

Reckless was announced with the release of critically acclaimed opening track ‘Wilder Days’, landing on Rolling Stone’s “Country Music Picks of the Week” where it earned praise as a “polished country-rock gem” with an “unmistakable Eighties vibe,” while Teen Vogue notes the track invokes “driving music nostalgia in the vein of Sharon Van Etten’s ‘Seventeen’”.

‘Wilder Days’, as well as additional early releases ‘Don’t Cry’ and ‘Take Me Away’, quickly earned placement on over 30 prominent playlists, including the cover of Spotify’s coveted Indigo playlist and Apple Music’s Country Risers of the Week, and have since garnered over 1 million streams.

Rock singer-guitarist Ayron Jones has announced his 12-track debut album CHILD OF THE STATE due May 21st via Big Machine/John Varvatos Records. Pre-order now

Doubling down on his uniqueness with music that harkens back to his beginnings, Jones explains the title, “Having faced the abandonment I did as a child, and how that affected me in life, is really what this album is about. It’s the triumph of overcoming all of that and still being that person. I’m the same kid looking for his parents, that longed for the love and support.”

He continues, “A lot of people have faced adoption and abandonment, but it’s not really talked about as to how that affects people and I thought it was important to be a beacon of hope for those people. To stand for something and prove not everyone has to be a stereotype or statistic.”

CHILD OF THE STATE features his current single ‘Mercy’, the US Top 5 debut ‘Take Me Away’ and his latest effort ‘Spinning Circles’, which weaves together complex issues of addiction and relationships. Co-written alongside Dave Bassett, Jones sings, “You’re the want that I need / Like that cough from good weed. And those lines that you toe / That slow drip down your throat.”

For Jones, the song is autobiographical, explaining “we have all been in relationships that were very unhealthy, where we couldn’t get rid of the person and there was something there that kept drawing us back and forth, going in circles.” Listen to ‘Spinning Circles’ here.

As ‘Mercy’ heads towards the Top 10 at Active Rock Radio in the USA, Jones describes the moment he wrote the haunting lyrics “Got me on my knees / too much smoke, can’t breathe”. He reveals, “I just felt like the line epitomised where we were in America. It was like taking a telescope and giving people a perspective of America from an outsider and what it felt like to experience this time. It was a rough story about what was really going on here in this country—and particularly for me, as a Black man.”

Jones has crafted a stunning visual for the powerful message with a fairly minimalist clip. He siphons off the grunge influence of his Rock-driven track and melds it with the kind of imagery that flashes, then burns into the subconscious.

In a world where ‘woke’ can often be an empty word, Jones holds accountability in a frame-by-frame journey through the raw truth. He also holds his ground, electric guitar as Excalibur, in a church where religion’s own compromises have helped create the mess he sees around him. Watch the video for ‘Mercy’ here.

The highly anticipated second album from Grammy Award-winning four-piece Greta Van Fleet, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, is out now, via Lava/Republic and EMI Records in the UK. Order the album HERE, and view more info on the album website HERE.

In celebration of the release the band performed the single ‘Heat Above’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the US last night; watch/share the performance HERE. They are also this week’s cover stars on Kerrang! in the UK – read the feature HERE.

“’The Battle at Garden’s Gate’ is about hope and overcoming the challenges that humanity faces,” says the band’s Sam Kiszka, “We live in a world powered by superficial institutions and this album is a reminder that it’s up to us to sing out of the silence.”

Producer Greg Kurstin (Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Adele) adds, “Hearing these songs evolve into expansive soundscapes took me on an amazing journey. I love that they explored these complex song structures, and the band reached for chords, melodies and lyrics that stretch beyond the usual.  Most of all, I admire that Greta Van Fleet have stayed true to themselves.”

In addition to ‘Heat Above,’ the cinematic album features the previously released tracks ‘Broken Bells,’ ‘Age of Machine,’ and US #1 rock radio single ‘My Way, Soon’. Rolling Stone raves that the band “aim to bust down old walls,” while UPROXX describes them as “electrifying.”

The Battle at Garden’s Gate has an elegance unseen yet from the young band, with string orchestras, explorative songs, and the band building a visual story with every pre-release track through videos, merchandise, partnerships and more.

The new album explores the boundaries of the group’s artistry and reflects heavily on the individual members’ personal and spiritual growth during their rapid rise, going from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents and selling over one million tickets in just three years.

To cap off the change-filled era, the quartet moved from Michigan to Nashville, immersing themselves in Music City's rich history.

The band sold out of The Battle at Garden’s Gate double LP specialty vinyl on their store prior to album release, but some variations are still available while supplies last HERE.

After nearly seven years, GRAMMY and Academy Award-nominated rock band Counting Crows have announced their highly anticipated new project, BUTTER MIRACLE, SUITE ONE. Produced by Brian Deck, the four-track, nineteen-minute suite is set for worldwide release on May 21st via BMG and is available for pre-order HERE.

The first single, ‘Elevator Boots’, is a glam look at life on the road in a band, awash in the thrill, the isolation, and the cleansing power of rock and roll.  Written by lead singer Adam Duritz whilst living in the UK last year, the track personifies what it means to spend your life tuned into the one thing that means the most to you even as, at times, it leaves you a little out of tune with the rest of the world.

Stream/Download ‘Elevator Boots’ HERE and HERE.

After nearly seven years, GRAMMY and Academy Award-nominated rock band Counting Crows released their highly anticipated new project, BUTTER MIRACLE, SUITE ONE via BMG. Produced by Brian Deck, the four-track, nineteen-minute suite is available now worldwide. Listen to BUTTER MIRACLE, SUITE ONE is available HERE as individual tracks and HERE as a complete suite.

Duritz wrote BUTTER MIRACLE, SUITE ONE while living by himself on a friend's farm in rural England in the summer of 2019. Following a five-year hiatus from songwriting and finally feeling inspired by his surroundings and frequent periods of isolation, Duritz penned the first track on the record, ‘The Tall Grass’. The lyrics, reminiscent of his mood, are simple, almost lament-like at the beginning but open up with a subtle shift of chord sequences and flowering melodies. While writing the end of ‘The Tall Grass’, Adam found the track effortlessly flowed into another song, ‘Elevator Boots’ the band's first single in nearly seven years that appropriately broke the top 10 at AAA Radio in less than two weeks.

Lyrics changing melodies and melodies changing the music, BUTTER MIRACLE, SUITE ONE was stylistically written so that each song flowed seamlessly out of the track before, creating one masterfully written song. ‘Elevator Boots’ segues into ‘Angel of 14th Street’, a mythical portrait of New York City whose climatic crash is the first power chord in the intro to the final song, ‘Bobby and the Rat Kings’. A profoundly personal track to round out the suite, ‘Bobby and the Rat Kings’ pays tribute to Duritz’s adolescence in San Francisco, the allure of what takes place in the middle of the night, and the mysterious magic of music.

Timed to the record release, Counting Crows also announced today their return to the road with the Butter Miracle Tour of the USA, kicking off in August 2021. Tour dates and cities are available at CountingCrows.com. Additional information and ticket on sale will be released soon.

Multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors have shared a new song called ‘Adrenaline’.  Released via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records/Polydor, ‘Adrenaline’ follows last month’s release of ‘Okay’ and the June release of their darkly cinematic track ‘My Own Monster’ whose black-and-white visual finds Harris performing a choreographed routine with his own shadow. All three songs will be featured on the band’s third studio album The Beautiful Liar which is set for release on September 24th. Fans who pre-order the album will receive ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Okay’ and ‘My Own Monster’ instantly. Watch the pseudo video for ‘Adrenaline’ HERE.

‘Adrenaline’, ‘Okay’ and ‘My Own Monster’ mark the start of a compelling new lyrical direction for X Ambassadors and is the first new music from the band since their hyper-creative multi-part project (Eg). Country fuzz heroes The Cadillac Three have unveiled a psychedelic animated video for their track ‘Devil’s Lettuce’, taken from their 2020 album Tabasco & Sweet Tea. The video was premiered at 4:20pm yesterday in the US, in line with one of the many puff-puff-pass traditions the song celebrates.

The track was written by band-members Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason. Speaking on the new video, Neil comments, "After seeing Nashville based animator, Shane Pielock’s work in a video by local indie artist, Tomorro Tomorro, we loved how he was able to create something visually compelling and narratively complete with simple line drawings. Even if it’s just a drawing of a question mark by itself in the middle of the screen, there’s something cool about it.

Jaren continues, “’The Devil’s Lettuce’ video is a fun homage to one of our favourite pastimes. Got some fun cameos in there too from our good friends Brothers Osborne and Brent Cobb. It’s psychedelic and crazy and perfect for the song!”

The Cadillac Three are also celebrating ten years of being a band and are currently on tour in the US. Kelby Ray comments, “We have some pretty badass fans who show up ready to party and know all of these songs from the beginning! It’s pretty cool to be back out there jamming together night after night.”

They will be culminating the anniversary celebrations with a very special tour of the UK and Ireland in December. Coming along for the ride is very special guest Brent Cobb who will be providing support at all dates across the tour. Find tickets here.

Speaking about the tour, the band exclaimed, “We can’t wait to come back to the UK and Ireland for our 10-Year Anniversary Tour! It’s been way too long and we’ve been counting the days ready to come back. Our good buddy Brent Cobb is opening and we couldn’t be more excited. Cheers, beers, and hallelujah, get your tickets, they’re going fast! Hope to see you there! Much love from TC3!”

Brent Cobb adds, “I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve been over to pick a song or few. It’s exciting that my first time back will be with my ol’ buddies The Cadillac Three. We’re gonna have a good time!”

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and musician Brent Cobb will release his debut gospel album, And Now, Let’s Turn To Page…, January 28th via his own label, Ol’ Buddy Records (pre-order here). Ahead of the release, ‘We Shall Rise’ is debuting today. Listen/share here.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) and recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the record features new renditions of eight traditional gospel songs that have been a cherished part of Cobb’s life, as well as one original track, ‘When It’s My Time’, written by Cobb, his wife, Layne, and Mike Harmeier. With these nine songs, Cobb pays homage to the community and values of his hometown of Ellaville, GA, while still incorporating his acclaimed signature sound - imbuing these gospel standards with elements of country, blues and southern rock in a way that is authentically and uniquely Cobb.

Although the album has been a long-time dream for Cobb, it has only come to fruition now due to a near-death experience in July 2020, when the vehicle that he was driving, with his young son inside, got T-boned at a rural four-way stop. Following the crash, Cobb found himself with a renewed outlook on life, remembering, “You just start piecing together how everything is sort of intentional… I’d always had it in the back of my mind to make a gospel album. That moment of clarity, of almost getting killed, made me think I should just make the gospel album now.”

A deeply personal project, And Now, Let’s Turn To Page… finds Cobb surrounded by those who mean the most to him, with his wife Layne Cobb, his mother Renee Cobb, his sister Alecia Grant, his father Patrick Cobb and his cousin Dave Cobb all joining him on closing track, ‘Blessed Be The Tie That Binds’. Additional musicians featured across the album include Brian Allen (bass), Mike Harris (guitar), Chris Powell (drums, percussion) and Philip Towns (keyboards) and as well as special background vocals from Anderson East, Caylee Hammack (a fellow Ellaville, GA native) and members of Antioch, a Georgia-based gospel group led by Cobb’s father.

Reflecting on the project, Cobb shares, “I’ve always wanted to make a southern gospel album because it’s what I come from, but also it used to seem like a rite of passage for country singers to make a gospel album. I’m just trying to carry on that torch.”

The new album adds to an already notable career for the Grammy-nominated artist following the release of 2016’s Shine On Rainy Day, 2018’s Providence Canyon and most recently, 2020’s Keep ‘Em On They Toes. Released last fall to widespread acclaim, Rolling Stone praises the album asserting, “his most down-home record yet… if 2018’s nostalgic ‘Providence Canyon’ was Cobb pining for the Peach State of his youth, ‘Keep ‘Em on They Toes’ is him happy at home in the present,” while Grammy.com proclaims, “realistic, humorous, lyric-driven songwriting… highlights Cobb’s tales of individualism and honesty with peerless precision” and Vice declares, “as strong of a songwriter as ever.” Moreover, Cobb released his first children’s book, Little Stuff, this past June, which was written as a reflection on what’s truly important in life and was inspired by Cobb’s song of the same name from Keep ‘Em On They Toes.

Cobb has earned nominations for Best Americana Album at the 60th GRAMMY Awards and Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2017 Americana Honours & Awards. He has also been featured on ‘CONAN’, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ and NPR Music’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series and has toured extensively across the world including numerous performances as part of Chris Stapleton’s ‘All-American Road Show’.

Manchester’s indie-rock rebels The Blinders have released their brand new single ‘City That We Call Love’, the first taste of new music since the release of last year’s critically acclaimed album Fantasies Of A Stay At Home Psychopath

An endlessly shape-shifting entity journeying through an expansive landscape full of abrasive guitars, pulsating basslines, bright synthesiser flourishes and dynamic brazen vocals, ‘City That We Call Love’ sees The Blinders return on top form. Their first new music release as a quintet, it sees them explore their broadened range of instrumentation with effortless proficiency as they boldly turn the page into a new chapter.

Speaking on the new single, vocalist and guitarist Thomas Haywood stated, “Love is an enormous feeling, and something I now know I’d never felt up until this point. The music tries to match the weight of that whilst holding its hand with the lyrics. I think both love and a city share the same intricacies and feelings of vastness when you’re in the centre of them, so I guess that’s why I chose to go with that. The band’s got a little more meat on its bones too. There are five of us now instead of three. It's probably the best decision we've ever made.”

The Blinders recently finished a string of headline shows across the UK, using the shows as an opportunity to debut the new line up. Haywood and bass guitarist Charlie McGough are now joined by second guitarist Eoghan Clifford, drummer Thomas Castrey and Johnny James on keys, the new additions adding a deeper, more uncompromising layer to their sound.

Involving additional musicians in the line-up is something the band explored on The Lounge Lizard Sessions, a limited edition live album that the band released earlier this year; a collection of rearranged compositions more suited to intimate performances, evolved from a series of stripped-back shows. After falling in love with their new-found approach, they found themselves wanting to dive into their music and explore its sonic depth via additional instrumentation and experimentation, and thus snowballed into making that depth a permanent addition.

The Lounge Lizard Sessions followed their second album, Fantasies of a Stay at Home Psychopath, released to widespread acclaim in July 2020.

The sold out performance will include a six song set, storytelling, and a Q&A hosted by renowned and beloved actor/comedian, Jeff Garlin.

The stream of the event will be a ticketed event available for UK & EU fans on Thursday December 2nd 2021 at 6:00 PM GMT. Tickets are available via this link: https://www.momenthouse.com/jerrycantrell. They are priced at $12 pre-order and $15 day of show. Ticket holders will be able to stream the event for 24 hours.

The performance is planned to be a selection of songs from Jerry’s recently released LP,  Brighten. Many of the musicians featured on the record will perform with Jerry including Tyler Bates [300, John Wick], Greg Puciato [Dillinger Escape Plan], Gil Sharone [Dillinger Escape Plan], George Adrian, Vincent Jones and Michael Rozon.

Brighten has received praise from critics including Kerrang who called it a, "Vivid, contemporary self-portrait of one of the most distinctive voices in hard rock. A long-overdue show of individual brilliance" - 4/5

Classic Rock proclaimed it, "His best yet. The work of a songwriter who is happy within his life {it} spans a broad arc of styles" - 8/10

The Sun commented; "A rich, organic album... Brighten is brilliant" - 4.5/5

Brighten is Jerry’s first project without Alice In Chains in 19 years. Co-produced with film composer Tyler Bates, and Paul Fig [long-time Engineer], the LP got its beginnings just before the pandemic hit. They welcomed a dynamic cast of supporting players including Duff McKagan [Guns N’ Roses, Loaded] on select bass tracks, Greg Puciato contributing to backing vocals and drummers Gil Sharone and Abe Laboriel, Jr. [Paul McCartney]. Joe Barresi [Tool, Queens of the Stone Age] handled the mixing of Brighten.

Manchester’s indie-rock rebels The Blinders follow the release of their brand new single ‘City We Call Love’, with news of their forthcoming EP, entitled Electric Kool-Aid (Part 1). A five track collection of dark brilliance, it will be released on Jan 14th, ahead of The Blinders hitting the road with The Cribs for a full UK tour in March.

‘City We Call Love’ sees The Blinders return on top form. An endlessly shape-shifting entity journeying through an expansive landscape full of abrasive guitars, pulsating basslines, bright synthesiser flourishes and dynamic brazen vocals, it is accompanied by a gloriously passionate video which sees the newly expanded five-piece explore their broadened range of instrumentation with effortless skill.

Speaking about the new EP, vocalist and guitarist Thomas Haywood states, “The EP title came from one of many jam sessions that took up our time during lockdown, the long title being 'John Hall's Electric Kool-Aid Acid Militia'... but that doesn't quite have the same ring does it?

"Pretty much all the songs came from some form of jam state. We'd record everything in the rehearsal room and I'd go home and listen back, choose the best parts and write lyrics to them. I'd bring it back to the band and we'd play it to death... constantly cutting down and layering as we go along. Nothing is accidental this time round. Everything is on purpose. The songs have been crafted meticulously.

"We’re a five-piece now instead of a three. It takes care of our previous limitations and is probably the best decision we've made. It's also the best stuff we've written. “

There is a calm, serene spirituality about Ann Wilson in 2022 which instantly draws you to her. She feels like a warm, wise someone who has seen enough bullshit to know how to avoid it calmly, and someone who is at peace with whatever she needs to be at peace with. Perhaps that is why the soul (and, indeed title) of her latest album, Fierce Bliss (set for release April 29 via Silver Lining Music) offers such universally entertaining, engaging, honest and safe harbor from these unpredictable times.

Take ‘Greed’, the powerful first single… “’Greed’ is that thing in our animal nature that makes us want MORE,” Wilson declares. “Whether it be money, sex, power or ecstasy, it fires our craving! It happens with all of us. When you turn around and catch yourself making decisions because you want the money, or because you’re caught in the headlights of glory, well, those are greedy moments.”

Wilson continues “I think people who claim to have made every decision from a root of pure idealism, and never done anything dark or greedy, is lying. I think everybody who ventures into especially the music industry hoping for a career with big success, ends up making these Faustian bargains at some point even if only briefly. It’s an aggressive song and I think I write best when I’m angry.”

Listen To/Watch ‘Greed’ here

One of the premier hard rock vocalists of all-time, Wilson smashed boundaries with her band Heart, the 8-times Platinum, 35 million-plus selling Rock and Roll Hall of Fame trailblazers who formed in 1973. During a decades-long career, Wilson rode the roller coaster of fame, fortune and madness, learning both joyous and hard, hard lessons along the way. Fast forward to Summer 2020, and a meeting with legendary veteran ‘artist’s lawyer’ Brian Rohan provided the catalyst for Fierce Bliss’s creation.

“Brian recommended people to me that knew people in Nashville, so I met these guys like [famed Nashville session guitarist] Tom Bukovac and Tony Lucido at those Muscle Shoals Sound Studio sessions. I’d never met them before, and they really inspired me. It was like a big door opening.”

With the musical chemistry organically established, Fierce Bliss came together quickly. “I had originally intended to go in, record a few songs and see what I had, but it just took on this life,” remarks Wilson. “At Sound Stage in Nashville, Kenny Wayne Shepherd came in and played on a couple songs. He was a whole other influence coming in. He just played his butt off, and with the gospel singers and everything else coming together, the whole project just started to grow.”

Wilson continues, “I’d known Warren Haynes from Gov’t Mule for a while. We’d written a couple songs together with Gov’t Mule playing, and those rounded out the record. So all of a sudden, where there was no record before, suddenly I had eleven cool songs that I really liked.”

Fierce Bliss is classic rock comfort food of the finest ingredients, carrying a richness and light that allows you to escape into timeless nostalgia. 11 perfectly weighted and selected songs ranging from Wilson’s own co-penned originals to breathtaking covers and collaborations. ‘A Moment in Heaven’ could easily apply to anyone who has seen their career suddenly bathed in a bright beam of glory before the spotlight is abruptly moved elsewhere. There is a deeply spiritual air about Ann Wilson 2022, and both ‘Black Wing’ and ‘Angel’s Blues’ show different facets of that soul and ethos. Furthermore, Wilson brings new life and verve to classic songs, such as Queen’s ‘Love of My Life’, Eurythmics ‘Missionary Man’, and Robin Trower’s ‘Bridge of Sighs’, and has helped fashion definitive versions of each which stand toe-to-toe with the originals.

To cap it all, the album artwork comes from the mind and hands of celebrated fantasy artist Roger Dean, who aside from his work in fantasy art is also renowned for his Yes sleeve artwork.

Wilson will soon be hitting the road with her new band, and make no mistake, she’s a performer at heart thus her excitement is palpable. Ann Wilson seems to be more comfortable with herself (and her art) than ever before with both Fierce Bliss and the band she’ll be touring with. “I think that for someone who’s been through as much as I have, and has lived to tell the tales, it’s okay to share my experiences,” says Wilson sagely. “I’ve heard from a lot of younger musicians and listeners too who have thanked me for staying around and for just keeping upright, just making it through, making the concessions once but not twice, and being able to live through it all with dignity.”

Country fuzz heroes The Cadillac Three will return to the UK this summer with their brand-new Hillbilly Hypnotized Tour. Having had to reschedule their much-anticipated 10th Anniversary UK Tour at the end of 2021 due to the pandemic, the acclaimed Nashville trio will instead be bringing a whole new live show for 2022. However tickets for the original tour dates will remain valid in each city.

The Cadillac Three, who were recently nominated for their second consecutive Group of the Year at the ACM Awards, released their fifth studio album Tabasco and Sweet Tea in 2020 which saw the trio inject some funk into their trademark southern rock sound. And the Hillbilly Hypnotized Tour will be the first chance for their legions of UK fans to experience tracks from both that album and its predecessor, the critically acclaimed Country Fuzz, alongside hits from the band’s decade-long career.

Speaking about the tour, the band say, “We can’t wait to get back over to play for our UK friends in August & September! To say it’s been too long is an understatement, but it will make it even sweeter when we finally get to be together!”

One of the most spontaneous and exciting live bands on the planet, The Cadillac Three will be playing eight shows across the UK, including a headline performance at The Long Road Festival and a celebratory show at London’s legendary Roundhouse.

Michael Franti has long been revered for his inspiring music, worldwide philanthropic efforts and the power of optimism. Deemed by NPR as “equal parts musician and activist”, Franti continues to offer opportunities for gratitude, solidarity and celebrating how we get through the greatest ups and downs of our lives with our body, mind and soul still in one piece with his upcoming album Follow Your Heart, set for release June 3rd via Thirty Tigers. Pre-order/pre-save the album HERE.

“One thing I learned these last couple of years is that people need people,” shares Franti. “I wrote many songs about connection, resilience and finding the light, even in the midst of all the crazy. Somewhere in there we find resilience, and I hope Follow Your Heart gives fans the courage to continue looking for and holding onto that perseverance.”

Along with today’s announcement, Franti & Spearhead release ‘Brighter Day’, an anthemic call to endure life’s hardships, to find resolve and strength in those around you and stick around for brighter days ahead:

Don’t give up when your heart is weary
Don’t give up when your eyes are teary
Don’t give up when your voice is trembling
When your life needs mending

Don’t give up when the hurt is near you
Don’t give up when the world seems to be broken
I’m still hoping with my heart open
For a brighter day

Don’t give up when your pride is bruised
And don’t give up when you fear you’re losing
Don’t give up in your darkest hour
‘Cause you got that power

Don’t give up when you feel divided
Don’t give up, I’ll be by your side
I’m broken
I’m still hoping with my heart open
For a brighter day

And if you stay with me
I will stay with you
For a brighter day

Today’s release follows lead single ‘Good Day For A Good Day’, which marked the band’s 10th Top 25 AAA hit. Joining “Good Day LA” to chat about and perform the song live in-studio, Franti shared that the song is “speaking to the fact that sometimes we have to retune our minds to feel like we can have a good day, because we’re not always going to get one. Not every day is perfect, but we can retune our minds to find those good days and good moments.”

Michael Franti & Spearhead will be kicking off the Follow Your Heart UK tour in February 2023. They will play St. Luke’s Music & Arts Venue, Glasgow (Feb 7th), Manchester Academy 2 (Feb 8th) and London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire (Feb 10th). Tickets are on sale now at MichaelFranti.com, with the option to also upgrade to VIP for the dates.

Franti launched a virtual event revolution in June 2020 with his Stay At Home Concert World Tour, a creation prompted by his first summer in 33 years in which he wasn’t on the road due to the global pandemic, performing for over 50,000 fans worldwide with seven uniquely themed virtual livestreams. To better connect with his Soulrocker community, Franti developed a dual-screen model, allowing fans to join a ‘Backstage Zoom Party Room’ and interact directly with one another. Franti is set to host his Brighter Day Livestream on Friday, April 22 at 9pm ET/6pm PT/2am BST.

Work Hard And Be Nice, Franti & Spearhead’s 11th studio album, was released in 2020, which included lead single ‘I Got You’, the band’s first Billboard No. 1 in nearly 10 years, and was also featured on NPR’s mid-year and end-year ‘Heavy Rotation: Public Radio’s Most Popular Songs of 2020’, sharing, “Michael Franti’s infectious groove is unmistakable. From the opening chords to the percolating rhythm, it’s easy to get caught up in the positivity he exudes.”

Somewhere in there we find resilience, and I hope Follow Your Heart gives fans the courage to continue looking for and holding onto that perseverance.”

On Friday (22nd), Franti released the title track ‘Follow Your Heart’, debuting the acoustic premiere via Instagram Live from his boutique retreat hotel Soulshine Bali in Ubud, sharing, “I wrote this with a guy named Greg Hvnsen who is an incredible writer and producer, and the song is about how following your heart during the pandemic seemed to be the answer to every question.

“The answer to so many questions was to listen to what my heart was saying, even though I couldn’t do a lot of the things I enjoy because we had to be isolated,” Franti elaborated. “We couldn’t travel, tour or make music the way we did before, but there were still a lot of things in my life that needed to be taken care of: relationships, health, this business as an entrepreneur (Soulshine Bali), and ‘follow your heart’ became the answer to so many questions for me.”

Opening with upbeat, rhythmic palm-muted acoustic strumming, ‘Follow Your Heart’ encourages listeners to trust their intuition, follow their dreams and seek out their deepest desires, all while keeping hope alive:

We are, we are the dreamers
        We are, we are believers
And I know you feel it in your soul

        Anywhere you go
        Anywhere you are
It’s as real as it gets
        As real as you are

        Anywhere you go
        No matter how far
It’s as real as it gets
It’s real when you follow your heart

Follow your heart like a stream to the ocean
And put your dreams in motion
        And when you fall down
Pick yourself up with your heart wide open, open

Marcus King today announces the release of ‘Rescue Me’, the latest preview track from his forthcoming solo album, Young Blood. The track, premiered today with American Songwriter, blends swampy percussion, fuzzed out guitar and King’s smouldering vocal delivery, sharing his plea for salvation from the path of excess he was walking at the time of making the record.

“‘Rescue Me’ cuts a little deeper than the rest for me.” Marcus states adding, “This song is a literal cry for help, one of the least metaphorical tracks on the record and a memory that’s difficult to relive each night but is important to remember. This is also one of the first times I collaborated with our good friend, the amazingly talented artist/ writer Andrew Gabbard."

Accompanying the song release, King released a moody live video, created at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio, it features acclaimed musicians including Chris St. Hilaire on drums and Nick Movshon on bass. Watch it here: https://mk.lnk.to/rescuemevideo

Marcus King, the 26-year-old Grammy nominated innovative songwriter and phenomenal performer, is soon to become rock royalty with the release of Young Blood, a timeless concoction of swaggering rock and supersonic soul, drawing on his most stadium- sized rock influences.

The album was produced by Dan Auerbach. It will be released August 26 on Rick Rubin’s American Records/Republic Records/Snakefarm. Pre-order available here: https://MK.lnk.to/youngblood

Despite the challenging personal circumstances, King has made his most accomplished work to date. One of his biggest fans, Dan Auerbach, exclaimed. “Music runs so deep in Marcus’ blood he might not even realise how born to do this he is. He’s the real deal.”

YOUNG BLOOD BRAND NEW ALBUM RELEASED ON AUGUST 26th

King and Auerbach set out to capture the classic power trio sound, which was pioneered in the late ’60s and ’70s, with a distinct sonic triad of bass, drums and guitar. The album was recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville summer 2021, with acclaimed musicians including Chris St. Hilaire on drums and Nick Movshon on bass. Songs were written by King and Auerbach in collaboration with legends such as Desmond Child and Angelo Petraglia, noted for their work with bands from Aerosmith to Kings of Leon.

King has been an outlier from the very beginning. A fourth-generation musician from Greenville, SC, who learned guitar at age 3 from his blues rock musician father Marvin King. He navigated troublesome school years to quickly become known as one of the most promising young artists of our time. He followed his breakout success with The Marcus King Band, with his Auerbach produced 2020 solo album debut, El Dorado. It garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Americana Album” and critical praise from NPR to Rolling Stone.

With unparalleled performance prowess and a dynamic live show, King has sold out historic venues from The Beacon to The Filmore. He has opened for Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathaniel Rateliff and graced the bills of Stagecoach, Fuji Rock, Rock Werchter and more. He also recently launched his own signature Orange guitar amplifier, the MK Ultra, which sold out before it even hit the stores.

King will continue to tear up the rulebook with the release Young Blood, redefining the route to modern rock stardom with a timeless sound and a singular voice, equal parts grease and grit, set to soon establish him as one of the most soulful vocalists of his generation.

Marcus King is currently on a world tour with headline dates across the US, UK and Europe. For more information please visit: https://MK.lnk.to/tour

Michael Franti has long been revered for his inspiring music, worldwide philanthropic efforts and the power of optimism. Deemed by NPR as “equal parts musician and activist,” Franti continues to offer opportunities for gratitude, solidarity and celebrating how we get through the greatest ups and downs of our lives with our body, mind and soul still intact with Follow Your Heart, released last Friday via Thirty Tigers.

“One thing I learned these last couple of years is that people need people,” shares Franti. “I wrote many songs about connection, resilience and finding the light, even in the midst of all the crazy. Somewhere in there we find resilience.

“This album means so much to me. It’s my favourite album that we’ve ever done,” he adds. “It’s about how we get through this crazy time that we’re living in; how we find the optimism and the joy, but mainly to follow our hearts and listen to the voice inside you to find passion and purpose.”

Regarding the current single ‘Brighter Day’ Franti elaborates that it’s “a song about never giving up, even when life feels overwhelming. When the issues of the world seem impossible to fix, and when your heart feels like it’s being ripped into pieces, lean into those you love for strength and support.”

Filmed in Bali, the official music video features people from all walks of life.“I wanted to create a clip that would inspire clarity of purpose during these troubled times,” offers Franti. “To keep fighting for what you believe in: for equality/equity, justice, hope, courage, for those you love, for those you never met before, and for your own ease of heart and mind – and the commitment to find joy and connection through it all, even as the world around us seems to be completely broken.”

Franti & Spearhead recently announced additional dates to the Follow Your Heart World Tour, bringing the North American leg to over 60 shows. UK and European fans will be able to catch them play next January & February.
