Ed Roman | Letters From High Latitudes | New Music Review

Roman is obviously vocalist is an accomplished singer/songwriter. Each style, each song on this CD expresses something a bit different than the other - a complete moment if you will. To me it’s comparable to looking into then suddenly experiencing what it is to be inside a snapshot of time. Some of the snapshots are silly or laugh-out-loud funny, some serious and passionate. Others are of contentment, exuberance, sadness, reverence. It’s a time capsule of time really.

It’s a term that means no matter how much you love a scene you shot; if it doesn’t fit in the film, it ends up on the cutting room floor. In 2009, The Mother Hips rescued a short stack of 2-inch analog tapes from a Los Angeles basement and started picking through hours of material, most of it recorded around the era that produced 1995’s Part Timer Goes Full and ‘96’s Shootout.

Ghost Owl | Say Goodbye To Finland | New Album Review

Ghost Owl's debut album "Say Goodbye to Finland" will be released on May 6th. The album as a whole is an experimental drift through futuristic soundscapes famed with uplifting electro-pop arrangements. The one binding theme throughout these budding tracks is the prolific use of synthesizers; aimed to move the lamest of limbs.

Gypsy Lumberjacks | Pulling Upon the Strap | New Music Review

Gypsy Lumberjacks are a Minneapolis based Americana band with a sound consisting of a mix of World Beat, Flamenco, Caribbean, Gypsy Jazz and Bluegrass. With such a range of influences, there is something for everyone to latch on to in the music. Known for never performing with a set list, Gypsy Lumberjacks prefer to rely on each other’s leads and changes.
