Today, progressive funk collective The Motet announced 2016 Winter Tour plans. The tour launches on January 28 in Solana Beach and zigzags up California and Nevada with stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Crystal Bay before ending in on San Francisco February 5 and 6. On February 18, the tour picks back up on the other side of the country in Greensboro, NC and in Asheville, NC for two nights with Umphrey’s McGee, and continues on through February 28 with stops in along the east coast and Midwest.
 

Colorado-based jamband, Digg, are excited to announce the premiere of their debut album, There Are Days, on Grateful Web today Friday, November 13th. A  bonus track will premiere on Glide Magazine Monday, November 16th and the full length album will be available for purchase on iTunes November 20th.

The cult funk ensemble Brooklyn Funk Essentials has released its fifth studio album, Funk Ain’t Ova, worldwide today. It coincides with the 20th anniversary of the celebrated debut album, Cool & Steady & Easy, and offers a collection of eclectic songs using BFE’s signature melange of funk, disco, jazz, ska, latin and house flavors.

Acclaimed New Orleans-based vibraphonist and percussionist Mike Dillon is working on a new album of Elliott Smith songs entitled Functioning Broke. The collection is planned for release in Spring 2016. The first single "Half Right" is available today for download and streaming.
