San Francisco Bay Area-based slide guitar master Dennis Johnson announces a September 15 release date for Rhythmland, his latest CD on the Root Tone Records label. Johnson plans to release his first single off the new disc, “Timbale” to iTunes on August 1, and will celebrate the new album with a special CD release party show on September 15 at the Guild Theater in Sacramento. Local nonprofit Childhaven today announced the establishment of the "Chris Cornell Music Therapy Program at Childhaven" in memory of the late musician and philanthropist. Vicky Cornell has committed $100,000 to assist Childhaven's therapeutic early learning model for trauma-affected children. This announcement comes on July 20, the date of Chris Cornell's birth.
 

ALT 92.9, Boston’s Alternative Radio announces The Revivalists, American Authors and New Politics will headline ALT Rocks Boston 2017.

The radio station’s free summer concert series, presented by RCN, will include two shows at Copley Square Park on August 17th and August 31st as well as a first time performance at the SoWa Art & Design District Market on September 9th, 2017.

The evening will begin at 5pm with entertainment by the Bay Area’s favorite psychedelic rock band Moonalice. Guests will enjoy various fresh non-alcoholic, canna-cocktails crafted by Jeff the 420 Chef over music and mingling before sitting down for dinner. DJ Logic will be spinning after dinner in the Redwood Grove, Scott Guberman and Jeannette Ferber playing during dinner with other musical guests.

Sometimes I think I am so full of shit. Ask my wife, and it’s probably safe to drop sometimes I think. But coming to Grey Fox Bluegrass Music Festival, a festival I come to every year, trying to think of a new way to make you, fair reader, understand that it is unlike anything that you have or ever will experience? I am full of shit to think I can do this. But thankfully, this year mother nature is co-writing this review, and she’s writing in the blurry ink of rain.

The Forecastle Festival celebrated 15 years at sea this year with headlining acts Odesza, LCD Soundsystem, and Weezer. Although they set sail 15 years ago, fans are still discovering unique quirks about the festival each year. Did you know their lost and found carries over each year?
